Back on 2005 ati provided xbox with not à hi end gpu, but instead with à completly new architecture. Ps3 had a cutting edge cpu and wasnt better because of memory constraints. Xdr+ddr3 all mixed on an ancient config. Etc. Not to mentionz nvidia screw with its 7800, a few months before releasing their dx10 cards.breff, now we have tablet cpu, multi,multi,multi threaded wich i think breaking code to each core will lead to innefficiencies
Carmack is absolute right. Before, consoles had nice cpu/gpu but lacked ram, bcause it was pricy to have lots of ram. Now consoles have lots of ram and complicated ram subsystems but crappy cpu/gpu!!
I would rather have a good cpu/gpu combo than a ram based system.

Why would someone even bother to comment on kinect system integration If theyre not buying Xbox? I want full integration and full functionalities from the start. If you have nothing to compare or copy, ask Sony wheres move2.0. Xbox is kinect!!! Deal with it!!!
If you prefer full hd/60 fps buy a pc. Less than 1% of ps4 games will perform it. Soon even a wrist watch will play better games than ps4.

hi wishingW, keep in mind that mantle isnt even present on all AMD cards either and AMD didnt point out wich card will and wich wont, and why. i too believe mantle is just a marketting trick. it kinda works and give the illusion of beeing superior than competition, besides they are on all next gen consoles, they just released the new Rx series, and on top of it... Mantle. as if the pc market needed another proprietary technology.

overall performance will be the same. the games will show it. ubisoft uses advanced water effects on ps4, nice, they will use other things better on xbox as advanced audio, and other games will use special features only on xbox. you wont on any way see a big diffrence between both consoles. if power means a lot to you buy a pc!!
