Retail will not allow it, and retail cannot be subverted.
The day retail can be bipassed, is the day we won't need consoles anymore for AAA video games.
If you don't believe me, just send a nice email and ask ONLIVE Corp why you've never seen their console in any American brick retail store with your own eyes.
Why?
Because I don't see anything next gen.
You could build a $12,000 PC, and you still wont be getting anything next gen.
Why?
Because developers aren't ready for next gen. And personally, I'm not interested in spending 4, 5, or $600 for minimal or incremental gains.
That's how I feel about it.
but I remember some last year.... Atelier Rorona and Hyper dimension Neptunia, and another Atelier Rorona game in 2010.
Recently Tales Of Graces F just launched, and I've heard some JRPG fans say it was good.
So, how come you're not interested in any of those?

but 24 players can't really be done with a Peer to Peer connection....not without severe lag.

So failing the single player mode in favor of multiplayer is no good of an excuse to me.
This is why I opted not to buy this on the first day like I planned.
Sony and/or EAT SLEEP PLAY failed this iconic game from what I can tell.

And you don't just spring one up and get good at it overnight.

You've got to remember....
Microsoft doesn't sell regionally.....they sell WORLDWIDE.
Same with Sony.
Then maybe you wouldn't be so confused.......maybe.
Sony has brought in many nice developers.
Zipper couldn't make good games.....they're gone....period.
You could have walked it over from the Czech Republic to one of Sony's offices in less time.
I could be wrong, but I doubt Insomniac is even putting this trilogy out.
Insomniac's busy making multiplatform games now.
