PS3 is hackproof, and the XBOX 360 is not.
Reputation is what makes everything plausible here.
If they can release their game on a timed exclusive because Microsoft (or even Sony) will pay and incentivise them....then if they turn around 6 months to a year later and can release their game on the "neglected" console and sell as many copies as the first...
Why would they change their habits? Why would they stop trying to get paid 3 times? Would you?
But if your "late game" didn't sell on the "neglected" console...I bet ...
BFBC 1 and 2 are run on dedicated servers on the PS3. I'm not 100%, but I'm almost sure that it's the same on the XBOX 360.
Almost all of EA's games are run on dedicated servers.
This game came out late...REAL late.
Why? Probably because of an exclusive deal with Microsoft....probably.
If this game was to do well on the PSN, then it would encourage other developers to do the same.
So, in my opinion and take, I hope this game does poorly on the PSN...otherwise we'll get more of this when 3rd party developers should be releasing their multiplatform games on the respected consoles simultaneously.
I hope Cast...
Why are they putting games that haven't been released yet? We know hardly nothing of the MMO, "THE AGENCY".
Secondly, Army Of 2? Why?
I wouldn't put Bioshock 2 on there either.
Battlefield Bad Company 2 would have been a better choice.
MLB 10 THE SHOW should be on there too.
This Bioshock seems more interesting than Bioshock 2.
It will sell some copies, but not an exorbitant amount.
That's kinda what happens to games that release late on the PS3.
It's a term I call THE BIOSHOCK TREATMENT.
I doubt Braid did especially great on the PS3 either.
I might be mistaken, but I thought that was the idea behind ID TECH 5....same as Cry Engine 3...so that they could compete against Unreal.
lol.
But the ratio of PS3 only owners who do not like or care about Call Of Duty is probably greater there.
Myself, for example, I bought my PS3 in January 2009, and I have yet to buy a COD game.
I did play MW2 last Jan (2010) on my little nephew's XBOX 360...my first play with a COD game.
I liked the single player, but after a few minutes of watching him go 18-0 and then 15-0 in the multiplayer, where he didn't die once because he safely s...
Both versions will sell a spitload of copies, netting ACTIVISION a spitload of money.
Modern Warfare 2 sold 11 million units on the 360 and 8 million units on the PS3.
That's alot of money either way....why do I care which version gives Activision more money when they've already made them a half billion dollars on each one?
I'm not following, I guess.
I'd be too busy roaming the nude beaches to care about PS2 or the PS3....forget XBOX too.
Brazilian chicks = Super hot.
Naked Brazilian chicks = SUPER HOT EXTREME
We really don't know what the PS3's version of Steam/Steamworks/whatever/etc. will entail.
We don't know what it will deliver when it's launched, what features it will or will not have, or how the service-application will continually evolve.
Valve seems to love money even more.
In order for the PSP device and brand to go on with success now and into the future, it has to have games.
I'm not saying this is the what happened, just that it is possible.
However, For Metal Gear I'm am positive this is the case.
Seriously,
Have you even played Valkyria Chonicles?
The game's quality is apparent almost immediately.
But, I haven't watched the video yet.....loading now.
So if one day, Sony could hypothetically offer a Netflix type service for say $100-$200 per year, and offer their entire catalog, NETFLIX style...that's ALOT of content....sh17 loads.
Sony has been contemplating and devising ways to get back at Apple or at least become a major player in the media Download service business.
This tech could be a viable means to do that.
