If looking at electronic components' industry I'd say that is no problem. MS can go Blu and compete with Sony, just like Toshiba and Sony are co-operating and competing in different fronts simultaneously.

I guess fanboy is a fanboy - equally stupid no matter the brand. I don't understand why to be a fan of some piece of hardware, let alone a commercial company.
I'm personally interested in PS3 because of it's exotic hardware even though I do not own one. I have less interest in 360 and usually never read / comment articles about it.
Not many 360 fans comment on PS3 articles but Zhuk, Green and some others. They do cover that area pretty well.

360 needs to sell a lot if they plan to win the console race, this is their time to make haste and that's what they'll do. 360 is easier to program for and MS has made convenient programming tools available. Because of that they've enjoyed the benefit of rapid code optimization and quicker utilization of their hardware. That has resulted in larger game collection and better looking games.
PS3 on the other hand has been more complicated in that area but PS3 programmers are catch...

But in the case of sould calibur kind of game surely the opponent should have a capable means for blocking incoming attacks, piercing / slicing would occur only when caught off guard. You could have a slaughter game with a giant sword and an opponent with bare fists but then the scoring would be in the form of body count ;)
Somehow I doubt that there will be cars without damage in the long run. Just think how it would make Ferrari look like if it is the only "bumping car" among realisticly modelled cars.
It probably would mean that you will have separate simulation tournaments and bumping car tournamets. I assume 90% of gamers will prefer the simulation (?). Actually it would be nice to hear how others feel about this?

Please make a fighting game with a physical modelling: when fist hits body, the fist stops and causes damage. When kick goes hard on your head your neck snaps.

That's right, make a deal with LG and throw in a combo player. It's most likely that MS has had more than enough offerings in that area. The BR "win" does console-wise have some effect to PS3 sales, 360 is actually pretty much on the side from that battle. Until games frow bigger than DVD9.
