i have been searching the net for graphics comparisons for almost all of the major cross platform titles... i was very disappointed with my conclusion- the 360 almost always comes out on top.
This has been true right from the beginning of the ps3's life, right up until recently with marvel v capcom 3. 360 titles look better. dont go hitting the disagree button blindly, search for yourself and judge honestly... the 360 versions almost always look better.

i havent played ico or shadow of the colossus but have always wanted to. so the hd re-release is perfect for me. i would never buy a ps2 just to play those games, so a ps3 release is perfect.
only people concerned with profiting off the resale value of their games would care about how a hd remake will affect their 'original' game.
hd doesn't bastardize the original either.. if anything, it enhances it! because developers can create the game closer...

it was probably just a retailer getting rid of stock and all other retailers following suit to keep their prices in-line. most stores nowadays have a price check, where they will beat or match any other retailers price.

some games are reliant on hardware. like metal gear solid 4, grand tourismo, killzone etc, so they couldn't be on wii (yes i know they have exclusivity, but just for argument sake.)
other games like super street fighter, grand theft auto and resident evil could be on wii (obviously with some editing), but developers just make up excuses.

wii isnt more expensive @ raendom. retailers lower the price to 129gbp (with a game and also wii sports resort). ps3 is not that price, is it? no! so dont be silly.
knowing sony they will simply release a new sku with a 500gb hard drive and keep the price the same as current ps3s. thats all they have been doing so far to justify their extortionate prices.

usually a good investment gets more valuable with time... consoles suck because they become more obsolete and worthless the longer you have them.
hard drives,connect-ability and if they re-design, then obviously the style etc.
they take consumers for fools because they have one sku on the market, then release another one with the said superior features. if the consumer knew this before-hand, they would obviously wait for the new sku to come out.
