Wow. Only 400,000 for the states and ONLY 100,000 for Japan. Talk about shafting your own country. I'm sure the loyal fans in Japan aren't going to be to happy with that decision. Now what can the PS fanboys say about this one. They made a big thing about MS not having enough and the the PS3 would have plenty to go around. Well here is the official statement. It's unbelievable. Sony keeps taking away and all they can say now is that they don't need it. When MS didn't have full backwards compatability that is all they talked about how M$ shafted us. These people are just blind and will love Sony no matter what they do.
The problen is not that they aren't including it but that they were so gung ho about HD starting with them and 1080P and now they aren't including it. At first all the Sony fanboys were talking about HDMI and 1080p but now they are saying well not everbody needs it because most people don't have the HDTV's so who cares. I agree with you 100%. I think this bickering about my console is better than yours has gone to far. People need to ask themselves one question. Why do I want the PS3 or 360? And don't go by specs or how powerful a system is supposed to be because in the end that means crap. In the end it all comes down to games. If one system has the games you like than get that one. I have a 360 and am very happy with it. I'm not saying that I won't get the PS3 but at the moment the games don't appeal to me...
That's not a bad idea. Now instead of spending $600 they have to spend about $850 with taxes. Now what if "Jim" doesn't have an HDTV, then what. How is he going to impress his neighbor. You have to remember that most people don't have HDTV's yet.

good writeup bladestar. I agree with you. New hardware is going to break down no matter what. Look at cars for example, because you're buying a Lexus, BMW, or Merc. doesn't mean that they aren't going to break down. Sometimes they break down more often because of all the high tech equipment that they have. It just part of life. We'll see when the PS3 comes out and find out how many of those break down.
You're right, we have gotten used to these news. The problem is, is that the PS3 keeps getting downgraded. Now first off we don't know if this is true and I'm not going to wait for Sony because everything they say now a days is a bunch of crap. To me it doesn't matter who wins the war and I don't consider it a war as most people do. I consider it competion between 2 companies, and as gamers we benefit from that. So in the end all that matters is the games and not which system is the best.
The same thing just happened to my cousins 360.
He called support and they told him it would cost about $130 to have it fixed. Now that is where I think that M$ is wrong. They know about the problem that the system had since the beginning, so I feel that they shoudn't charge for that. He got it when it was released so it was from the first batch that could possibly have had the defect and now they're making him pay for it. 1080P might be standard in 3 years but that doesn't mean that it will still be affordable to the average person. And the 360 has a longer life than 3 years. The xbox was 4 years. So what makes you think that the 360 is only going to last 3.
I keep hearing about 1080p and HDTV on the PS3. The problem with that is that most people dont have HDTV's so they could care less about 1080P. That was a good writeup. I don't know what all these morons on here keep talking about the 360 not having next gen. Obviously they dont know what next gen is. If they look at GRAW, Oblivian, COD2, just to name a few and say that that is not next gen, then they are going to be very disappointed when the PS3 finally launches. As of right now the only games(s) that I see that look like they might be good id Resistance. Other than that, the rest are crap and not next gen according to them.

The problem with Sony is that they think because it has the Sony name people will buy it no matter what the price. It doesn't happen like that. You have Ken saying that the PS3 is to cheap. They said that the trilogy would be done, not halo itself. I find it hard to believe that they would end something that brings in a huge amount of cash and I don't think that MS would let that happen. It's to big of a franchise.
No it didn't get delayed but at only 400,000 units it mind as well. I thought that the 360 was scarce when it launched but the PS3 is going to be very hard to come by.
