We got an expected release date of fall 2014 from Sony. If it is coming February, which all rumours are suggesting, then it's fair to call it a delay. Either way I think this game will do better sales numbers by releasing in early 2015 anyway.
While I agree for the most part your numbers are a little off too.
The ps4 numbers are a little inflated from the Japan launch and a strong March month from stock replenishment and Infamous. The ps4 is therefore likely around 7.8 million as of the 17th and about 8 million as I write this.
The xb1 is hard to say for lack of official numbers and unofficial sales in 'unavailable' markets but is probably over 4 million and hitting 4.5 million in June and ...
What I dislike about Sessler's brand of victimized feminism is that he comes out with statements like this in his God of War Ascension review:

I worry for this game actually. It looks great visually but if the gameplay consists of mainly these scripted shooting galleries broken up by constant cutscenes I don't think there is going to be very much to the game. The voice acting seemed a little off too. It is begging for a great coop/multiplayer to give it that spark that made Gears of War such a hit.

Beneficial for the consumer yes, I'm not sure if it's beneficial for sony. There is an argument that the competition microsoft brings helps sony by bringing attention and consumers into gaming.
I'd argue sony would be more profitable having a monopoly without microsoft around. Realise that I'm not talking from my 'world' like you're trying to make out, I'm talking from a sony perspective. You were too quick to assume judgement I'm afraid.
Microsoft are like a cornered animal atm. Sony had a chance to finish them off but Microsoft are fighting back and this E3 I think we will see a major 3rd party exclusive again go to the xb1.
Just imagine if it was Sony who secured Titanfall exclusivity and had a major 3rd party exclusive lined up for this E3. It would be all over, Microsoft wouldn't stand a chance, but Sony rested on their laurels and gave Microsoft some time to recuperate. Big mistake Sony.
Amy Hennig couldn't create an original story-line even if Neil Druckmann offered her cunnilingus for it. Uncharted has always had great writing for characters but a lackluster and cliched plot.
I'm glad they are choosing to go darker. Uncharted needs it otherwise it is going to have the been there done that feel. Hopefully there are some fresh gameplay mechanics too.

Forbes hates video games in general. For years they lied and slandered the ps3 and now they are doing similar things to the xb1. Any gaming news they cover will almost always be negative.
Yeah, a nice big pay check would make me want to work on kinect games too. These guys are just employees doing what their bosses desire of them. It would be tremendously foolish of them to even hint at not wanting to make kinect titles.
They were only kinect focused because microsoft forced them to be kinect focused. So now microsoft are blaming staff at Rare for not making kinect sports a hit instead of admitting that their broken peripheral kinect was to blame.
PC gamers have been lying for years about the value of PC gaming. Not only is the cost/returns far less as you go over the price of a console, with you getting nowhere near the power and optimisation of a ps4 on a £350 PC, but you also cannot pick up cheap used games for a few quid in store or on ebay and sell them on for some cash when you are done with it.
Games are now designed around console first with optimisation and control layouts and some blockbusters don't...
your friends should be playing it on ps4 if they have any sense.
I understand your reasoning Gribble but a problem may be people picking up a $99 ps3 this late in a generation are not the same people who are going to be buying $60 digital titles for years old games. They are looking for the bargain bin used copies. But you're right if sony can get them to see the value in PS+ than it could be a good bet.
I'm gonna miss Jack Tretton. He was great.
