So players without an internet connection are stuck with longer loading times? Is it unreasonable for people to expect an optimized game without needing the internet?

You forgot that the Xbox One is also the more expensive console, the only reason the PS4 is selling more for now.
Says someone who most likely hasn't even played the game. I found the combat far from clunky.

I guess all hack & slash games with similar combat are boring and repetitive then? I was glad to be able to play a launch game that is a new IP and isn't a generic FPS.
Even with the higher price the Xbox One is only a small amount of sales behind the PS4. Think about how much the X1 would have outsold the PS4 if the prices were the same. It shows that the only advantage the PS4 has is the price.

Don't tell me what I haven't played. I have a PS3 and I have played both God of War 3 and Ascension.
I agree the combat is deeper on GoW but Ryse is just as fun. Plus, you don't have to QTE every enemy, it is a choice, unlike the mandatory QTEs on GoW. There is no reason not to use them because on Ryse they are actually fun. Play the game before judging it.

I will be leaving mine in standby. Just like my TV, Computer, Blu-ray player & Sky box. So a long cold boot doesn't matter for me.

You seem to be trying to convince yourself more than the article writer. Just because you don't like the TV features & Kinect doesn't mean no one else does, people who welcome innovation will be getting the X1 not a PS3.5.

Fallout 3 & New Vegas are the only games I have hundreds of hours game time in, I played both for about 3 months straight without touching any other games when they launched and when I got the DLC I played it for many more months. Haven't had that with a game since, not even Skyrim. :] Been waiting for the next Fallout ever since.
I have watched Blu-Ray for years and I know their is a huge difference between 720p and 1080p, I hate watching movies on Sky in 720p because I would rather get the same movies on Blu-Ray. I was excited to see the consoles reach 1080p because I bought a 2013 LED TV in 42 inch for next-gen, but watching the X1 v PS4 comparison videos of Ghosts and BF4 they almost look identical. Their are differences yes, but nothing that blows 720p out of the water.

If this is true then I guess the article from a few months ago about forced labor that Sony fans downplayed is a major issue after all. Seems more like someone trying to deflect the blame away from Sony though.
The PS4 may be a better gaming console but in my opinion the X1 will outsell PS4. Microsoft are all about making money, that is the whole reason they are trying to target a larger audience instead of just gaming. They wouldn't have done that if they didn't think it would outsell a gaming only console.

Sony have got to let company's that have sold the PS4 know what is going on, they are going to be the first people that know if production has halted. If this is true then reports of the same thing will most likely start to pop up from other websites & stores.
If Sony has actually halted production then maybe it is not a small amount.
SOE isn't owned by Sony anymore.
