There are many clues who leads to that Microsoft wants to release their games on Steam. For example the word "currently". It's an obvious PR word for "we are not ready to announce it yet".
Microsoft still doesn't say it won't be released on PC. The sentence "we currently have no plans" simply means they are not ready to announce it yet. If the game will never be released on PC, they could simply say something like "Halo 3 will bever be released on PC". But they don't. Why? Becaus it's coming to PC. The Steam database and AMD driver entry was not an accident. It's not that easy to make an accident.

Im actually happy Pachter thinks Xbox will win next gen. Since Pachter has a failure rating on 95%, that will mean that PS4 will win.
But like you said, Pachters definition of winning and our definition of winning is two really different things.
Jonathan Blow is not the first indie developer who have had a bad relationship with Microsoft. I remember Quantic Dreams David Cage also said something about that Sony gave them more trust, creativity space and freedom when they were working on Heavy Rain than when Quantic where working on Fahrenheit with Microsoft.
It seems that Sony is doing better with indie developers than Microsoft do.

HOLY SHIT!!! All of you have to buy this masterpiece. Bought it on Steam a couple of weeks ago. Amazing game. If it doesn't support cross-buy I will recommend everyone to buy it on Vita, it suits perfectly there. I can even see itin the front of me.

Holy shit!!! That's a hell of a month. Feels like Im robbing Sony with PS Plus, and i have never felt like Im robbing a compny with a subcription. With LIVE, it feels like Microsoft is robbing me.

Halo on Steam will sell for tons of money. Mod support, 1080p, 60 FPS, dedicated servers etc. People are still buying many year old PC games, why not Halo?
