Actually, they NEVER stated they wouldn't have anything, it was just a lot of bad mouthing in the game media that Microsoft have nothing for indies in response to Sony's showing at E3. Very sad that people seen that as fact.

Everyone asked for next gen and what's more next gen, even more next gen than the PC then Forza 5's innovation in AI?! If anything that is "REAL", it's MS's implementation of their Cloud Computing, Gaikai is NOT EVEN UP YET!

Sony can state these points all they want. Xbox One is not even suppose to exist in order for them to even last out this gen. If Microsoft is able to garner it's install base overtime, Sony won't last.
Look at the actual new and established IP announments for next year. First time either company are going head up.

What you guys have to consider is that this was directly from Phil Spencer NOT speculation.
So if anything expect some great announcements from Microsoft. Sony is just in response as usual. Guarantee they didn't even have anything in store to show. Only thing I'm expecting that will be a great announcement is The Order gameplay.

Finally a point made. This will give a rise in demand for faster internet speeds and who better prepared than Microsoft. It seems as if they knew this transition will happen.
You have Google Fiber lighting the fire under the arses of Major ISPs becoming a major threat as there services catches on. But on top of that all, you have the FCC pushing for fiber in every state by 2015. Probably only in the "lucrative regions".

I highly doubt that they made the eSRAM to compensate for DDR3. If anything I believe they chose DDR3 for low latency to allow the technology that eSRAM is used for (Deferred Shading, Tile Rendering, just for exp.)
It's the most incompetent thing to implement a DDR3 and than use eSRAM to "fill it's void". Otherwise it would have been smarter and cheaper to just did what Sony did, implement a boring looking architectural design.
