***"MGS4 is a third person shooter/ stealth hybrid, thus not staying true to its gameplay roots...similar to what happened with Splinter Cell: Conviction."***
No. MGS4 is not a hybrid unlike the new Splinter Cell. It's still stealth. The people that think MGS4 is a hybrid are people that want MGS4 to play like you are still fighting during the Cold War... lol
@Logicwins
That makes no sense. Vice City and Rock Band aren't continuing on any previous story so of course you don't have to play those games in order to appreciate those games. MGS4 is a progress in story, so of course you need to play the previous games to appreciate the game more. If you haven't played the previous MGS games prior to 4 then obviously the series never garnered enough interest from you to begin with so either way you are on bad footing starting...
How is LBPK a rip off? I don't think people know what rip-off means anymore.
Ha ha.
I was waiting for a response like this. :)
I thought this rip-off business was settled when title was first revealed...
I guess I was wrong lol.
The only people that are sensitive are the jellyjelly haters (such as yourself) that feel the need to call PSA: Battle Royale a rip-off a million times after already calling it a rip-off a million times.
You call this opinion piece "damage control" which I find odd, when in the title it explicitly states "Yes, Playstion All-Sta...
You know, I really wonder why you only have two bubbles man.
smh
Killzone 3 is my biggest let down by far! I cannot express my hate for that game without typing a wall of text. I really hope KZ4 is more like KZ2 and NOTHING like KZ3!
Um, in trophies for exclusives games they do have trophies where you'd get a trophy for defeating a boss or a certain level. They just also have trophies that require you to use certain guns and get x amount of kills with it in addition to those trophies. It just makes it more challenging to plat a game is all.
I'm not saying that disagree with what you are saying. I agree with what you are saying 100%.
But just feel that if this article was "10 reasons why Achievements are better than Trophies" instead you wouldn't have made this comment.
Hardcore gamers still matter lol. Just because there are more casual gamers than hardcore gamers doesn't mean the hardcore all of a sudden doesn't matter. Hardcore gamers are still large enough in number where games that don't appeal to casuals will still sell a millions of units.
The industry will completely falter without the hardcore simply because casuals do not buy a lot of games. Hardcore gamers are the ones that buy 3-5 titles any given year. Casuals only...
Aw man. Sonic adventure was the reason I got a dreamcast. I really hope SA3 can live up to the Sonic Adventure games of the past.
Well said.
Xbox players say that they are happy to pay for Live for all the features it provides therefore people should stop saying it should be free, well then the same goes for PSN.
Stop saying that Sony should charge for PSN. What ever features Live has that PSN doesn't, PSN users are fine without it. I really don't see any feature that warrants me paying an extra fee just to get access to the other half of my game that I paid full retail price fo...
You seriously agree with having to pay another extra fee after paying full retail price to access the other half of your game?
Sony already has it fine with the PS+ model.
Finally a post I agree with.
I think Sony will have something to attract casuals too... I just hope it's something that MS and Nintendo haven't already done or have plans for.
Had Move been more successful of course Sony would put more effort toward it, but I doubt it would have diminished the number of PS3 titles last year or this year. Personally I think motion controls are only good as an option as of right now. Kind of like 3-D; It improves the ex...
***"We wont see the likes of the PS1/PS2 anymore. Nintendo took a risk to change and innovate with the Wii and it paid off."***
You completely missed my point on purpose. You said that companies failed to bring in a wider audience last gen while in fact the PS2 the highest selling console...
***"The "core" gamer that people speak so highly of, is outnumbered in a big way by casual gamer's and gamer's who just play for fun.&quo...
So because someone doesn't like CoD that makes them a hipster? LOL
There are more reasons than that as to why people hate CoD. Being popular is one of them, but definitely not the main reason as there are a lot of games that are popular, yet they don't get the forum hate that CoD gets.
***"Companies obviously weren't doing enough to draw in a wider variety of gamer's."***
What are you talking about. PS2 is the highest selling console to date. How much wider of an audience do you need?
***"Next generation will feature both hardcore and casual features to entice both sets of gamer's right out of the box."***
That goes without saying, especially after the success of the Wii.
***"Sony actually doesn't have a stellar "hardcore" lineup the rest of 2012."***
That is your opinion and I'm sure every year Sony doesn't have a stellar "hardcore" lineup for you.
***"The die hard Sony fans that beat their chests over "hardcore only" games, are going to have to find something else entirely to brag about."***
What the hell are you talking about? Sony is not going t...
***"Every shooter is camper friendly"***
No, not for run and gun games. Killzone 2 is the most anti-camper game I've ever played, on consoles anyway.
That MP trailer for BO2 is what they should have showed at E3. I think I may have to take back my claim about BO2 not breaking MW3's launch week record because the recent trailer actually looked sorta good.
