Hmm, I wonder if EA just confirmed that they don't own the license exclusively. If they do own the license exclusively then that is very easy and convenient for them to say "come at me breh!" when they know damn well that 2K can never really come at them as long as they have the license exclusively.
Why weren't people mentioning open world before though? People were complaining about the mere fact it was 30fps not that it wasn't open world or that had it been open world it would be acceptable for it to be 30fps. A lot of people were saying 30fps was unacceptable for a next gen racer period ignoring it's other features such as detailed environment, lighting, cycles, etc. which would obviously take up a lot of resources preventing it from reaching 60fps.
It was news worthy when these same people were laid off, so it only makes sense that it would be news worthy when they get hired, no? Besides it was news worthy when people were merely reaching out to them as well not to long after the layoffs.

And all of sudden this game sounds like a must have just on concept alone. Already had me at open world, but Robot Dinos has me sold! Guerrilla Games just needs to deliver on story now and all is good.

Haha, I was looking for that Red Dead mention. Red Dead is my game of last gen so far too. There are still some games of last gen that I need to play, but as of right now Red Dead is my top game.
