Like why? We need more them. With these western games being mostly male filled confuse me as well as some Japanese games being mostly female filled.

I don't. Because I play Japanese games. Western games don't have many female characters or any worth playing. Only Tracer and Lara Croft come to mind as my favorite.
But when it comes to Japanese games I can list over 100 of my favorite that are females.

A good way to tell is by looking at each of Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft IP on their system and look at the top selling games they released.
That would give you a good idea of the fans on that system. Of course the fans varies depending on the game available or whether or not a Nintendo fan only have 3DS or Sony fan only have Vita.

They only titles are eligible are the Nintendo in-house games, anything Miyamoto crafted or Pokemon.
Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Yoshi, Star Fox, Pikmin and Pokemon to name a few. The Wii series games or anything with Nintendo Headquarters development.
