HD has shadows. Biggest difference I see.
Crysis 3 on XBL and PSN looks remarkably bad. It's like putting on glasses with a bad prescription and then on PC it's like wearing HD glasses. The console version is as ordinary and generic as it gets. The graphics gave it a bland feeling of I've seen this a million times before. I downloaded the beta on both consoles. I deleted both.
Eeew, It looks like some futuristic typewriter.
Okay, now I'm buying LBP Karting. That's just the right price for me.
They are? Duh! Haha! Everyone knew the Wii was a slightly more powerful Gamecube with no HD and few online games. That didn't matter though. They managed to take over the industry with a fascinating gimmick. Personally I think motion control has seen it's best days. It came and went. Now it's that silly oddity we all laugh at while still using Gamepads for the majority of games we play.
Anyway, the Wii appeared at the right time and basically won this gen in terms...
U Mii, Wii all fucked! lol! I love watching Nintendo fall from the throne. Their ego needs a good swift kick in the ass, haha! It's the same thing that happened to Sony with the PS3 launch. Sony was on top. Then their ego ruined everything. Thought we'd buy a 700 dollar system, just because PS2 was the #1 console at the time. Ha!
I welcome it. It's basically the same design from 1995. Other than adding rumble and analog a little later on. It hasn't really changed at all.
The only way the PS3 can remain relevant after PS4 is if you can't migrate your PSN content to the PS4. Then there's a legitimate reason to still own the PS3, but I doubt you won't be able to migrate your PS3 content to the PS4. On another note. I'm sure once Sony abandons the PS3. Hackers are gonna have a field day with it.
How do I keep my stuff on 360 and PS3 when I migrate to the new systems? I have 300gb worth of content on each system. I hope these new systems have at least 1tb of storage. Unless it's all on the cloud?
This demonstration is pointless as will every 4K demo we watch, unless you're there in person in front of a 4K HDTV. Yes folks, no matter what. We're not looking at a 4K screen. Will never get the true experience of what it's like to see it in person. So this proves nothing.
Regarding Next-Gen consoles (720,PS4) If they are announced. My main concern is what few gamers ever talk about, how the hell do we keep our stuff? All the games we bought, achievements, trophies? DLC? I have so many questions. How do we transfer it to the new systems? Some of us have 250gb of content. How big will storage space be for the Next-Gen consoles? What if they're 250gb and all the stuff I transferred to the 720 from the 360. Leaves me with little to no storage space on the 720?...
Okay, motion control was a cute little experiment and lives on in silly dance games. Can we move on now and get back to making good games controlled with a gamepad?
No one can beat Steam's deals. 4.99 and 7.99 for PC games also on 360 & PS3 that once cost 60 dollars!
I buy all the systems. So I'm not picking sides. I will say next gen consoles need to take it to the next level. It's how we got where we are in the first place. Imagine if graphics had stopped at 16 bit. Because someone said, graphics don't make a game, just good game play. No that didn't happen. Everything evolves and games should too.
Oh no. Now will never hear the end of it from Sony Fanboys. PS3 is better because it sold more. The numbers don't lie, blah blah!
I never go by numbers. I go by relevance. The one that had the longest lasting impact this generation. From what I saw and played. That was the Xbox 360 imo.
I wouldn't even expect Watch Dogs on current gen systems.
They still make cell shaded games?
Sony is lagging way behind MS in the online service department. I played FF online on PS2 with the Network Adapter back in the day and the feel of PSN, from the way the install meters look to using a traditional HDD. It hasn't changed much. Sony is following the old handback. They need to upgrade their view for their next media service.
This looks to be the best year for gaming in years. Tomb Raider, Gears of War Judgement, Bioshock Infinite, GTAV, The Last of Us and even better if MS and Sony announce their next gen consoles. Big year!
OMG! PlayStation 4 Revealed??? This headline isn't going to be misleading at all :P
Screw the power of the Next Gen consoles. Where am I gonna store all my XBL and PSN content? I have 650gb worth of PSN content. How am I gonna migrate that over to the PS4? Unless PS4 has a 2tb HDD? No one is talking about this.
