Welcome to 'How to Thoroughly Muck up a Reboot 101'. I am your professor Mr. Antonaides. In this class we will extensively explore the many different ways you can take a beloved franchise, preferably a genre definer, and use it for your own self serious, pretentious noodling and mediocre gameplay and design. In addition, we will cover the importance of waving your arrogant bums in the fanbase's general direction. All of this will ensure that your reboot succeeds in meeting upwards...
I think the combat will get much better once the secondary weapons you obtain from bosses are added in to the mix and more abilities are upgraded. True it lacks the immense depth that DMC4 had, as does almost every other game of this sort. I was more referring to the feel of the system and the special moves using directional inputs combined with the lock on. It is true though that this is more than just a masher. The timing delay combos and the way you can flow through the moves is really sat...
The demo got slated because the people playing were too impatient to learn the mechanics and just made a knee jerk reaction and blamed the game. I can't believe people are having such a hard time parrying. Once you put the time in, this games controls are sublime. I personally can't wait to play this and believe it will be one of the greatest action games since Bayonetta. It has the same "lock on with directional input" foundation that classic DMC games had and is way deeper...
Heh. Phuket.
Whoever wrote this has no idea how to play this game. Totally uninformed and lame.
No problemo. Look up a little tutorial on youtube or just mess around a lot. For a demo it's really deep. Launchers and dash attacks and flying jet kicks and breakdancedy ninja stuff. I love this game so much already. Once all the secondary boss weapons are added in it's going to be crazy.
Dodge is jump + light attack. It is directional too and you can even swat away grenades by just dodging backwards without directional input. It's an offensive dodge as well that hits the enemy you're dodging at the same time if you do it right.
I hear people always saying there is no dodge in this game, and they are right.
There is MEGA DODGE.
MGR2 will hopefully be on fox engine next gen. Kojima Pro and Platinum are a match made in video game heaven and I can't even imagine how sick a collaboration between the two starting from the beginning would be. Especially considering how much they learned from working with each other already.
This demo is so fun once you really grasp all the crazy stuff you can do.
Because it blatantly doesn't deserve a 9.
So maybe instead of saying "this guy gets it" like "it" is some kind of objective thing, you could just say "this guy shares my opinion". Duh indeed.
This guy gets it = This guy agrees with me
I really hope they do away with the constant camera wobble from the first game. I found it super duper irritating. I thought my copy had some sort of problem until I looked it up and everyone was complaining of it. It was a really stupid idea in my opinion.
AAARRRGGHH! So hard not to watch...must go in to game knowing as little as possible...trying not to press play...Seriously, this is the one game I am going to stick to my guns about going in fresh. I have really high hopes for this one, but it's going to be really tough to hold out for a whole month still. I believe this game will be absolutely mind blowing judging from the bits I've allowed myself to see and the demo. Monsoon looks sick. I'm excited to see Raiden's move set o...
Holy moly! If that is a picture of you, then you should play the reboot Dante in the inevitable movie adaptation. I'll leave figuring out if that's a compliment to you.
@360ICE
I have tried it. It's an o.k. action game. Not really a DMC game to me. NT really should have made their own game for this story and these mechanics.
My OPINION aside, I'm just pointing out that if you're going to fault people for talking all kinds of crap, you doing the same on the other side of the coin is not all that different. Just saying.
I'd be more embarrassed to alter my opinion based on the critical popularity of something. What you are doing here is just as corny as anything the worst "haters" do.
Because if this game fails it will be due to the fact that Capcom did not listen to the people they were making the game for and because NT responded to legitimate issues with disrespect and ego tripping PR.
Don't you understand that you have great power as a consumer to influence what you're offered? Why just swallow anything they throw your way? Are you not aware of this rather basic element of capitalism?
Many people loved this franchise, and if ...
Thanks fgjhrtdgr, I've never thought about punching a cat in the face before. I really appreciate you taking that away from me.
Rising will destroy this game. My opinion only. Although I think you can admit that objectively, the response from a majority of people is similar so far.
The demo of Rising was waaaay closer to the feel of what DMC used to be before NT turned it in to Heavenly Sword 2 with more weapons. If you re-skinned everything in Rising with the same art style and characters from this reboot DmC, but retained the feel of the combat system in Rising, I guarantee you public opinion would...
No.
