I wouldn't call it bypassing. The argument has often been wanting to play a character in the game that truly represents the player, and custom characters allow people to do just that. It definitely doesn't bypass it in the sense of protagonist at least. But, the weight still falls on the shoulders of developers when it comes to NPCs.
Yeah I have mine using 5ghz and it works much better than I expected it to when I ordered it. Not a single second of lag while playing Splatoon 2 even while walking around my house.
Idk man. I wouldn't take the Switch out of the equation, not with the numbers it's currently putting up. It's on pace to out-perform the Xbox One's first year, and the platform has received at least one really good exclusive each month. I'd say it's definitely a contender.

yeah. I had fun on my xbox and ps4, don't get me wrong. But this was the first month since march that I pretty much went to my switch first most of the time.

exactly, I think these companies and generations with such insane libraries should definitely go that route. And since the SNES classic won't let us update with new games it feels like a huge missed opportunity.

Out of the three you listed that will be duking it out, I have to give that to Assassin's Creed (though I will be buying all three). Destiny is in a sweet spot once again at the beginning of September. Enough time to grab a lot of attention before heavy hitters start dropping in October and December. I do agree that they are piling on too many similar titles in one period though. I'm curious to see how the sales fall when all is said and done. CoD is really impressing me right now aft...
When trying Far Cry 5 it was good, but very much the same old thing. I didn't get a chance to try Wolfenstein unfortunately, and I'm still in the cautiously optimistic group for Star Wars
