Not entirely true but this game had an unusual development process. Sony gave significant support to save NMS so I think hello games respected their wishes on this front. In exchange for marketing and hype. I think it would be hard to justify 60 on PS and 30 on PC. Once you commit, that's it. I think this is one of those titles that will drop in price really fast to hello games original intention.

I don't think multiplayer only games should be 60 dollars either. I speak with my wallet. I loved the Overwatch beta but I still haven't bought it yet. I would never pay 60 for any of the games you mention.
I'm not trying to say NMS should be 10-15 dollars either. 20-30 tops though. In that range it would have dropped critics dead. They do show more leniency to big publisher titles but you obviously know why. Favors. That bubble of shit we call games journalism...
I think it was the 60 dollar price tag honestly. It's not any deeper than that. It wasn't what Murray did or didn't say. It's not about Sony taking over the publishing or even the multiplayer. The 60 dollar price made expectations in an otherwise consensus that would have accepted any game for an experimental indie price. Who's decision was it to go full retail? My guess would be Sony that also offered significant support.

I didn't get into stealth until games like human revolution, mark of the ninja, dishonored and far cry 3 but I did like a few back in the day like tenchu. I hadn't played any MGS before MGSV or any splinter cell games but I would give it a go these days if it looked good.
