His Atari 2600 isn't even a 'Six Switcher'
The last game I played on 360 (and finished) was Bioshock... I booted up Mass Effect but haven't got into it.
PS3 is where it's at for me... nice kit... free online... great games... Blue Ray... great media centre... good quality PSN games... psp integration.
It trumps 360 in almost every way and 360 is starting to smell like Dreamcast when PS2 came out.... remeber... Dreamcast had a head start and 'better games' but it didn't last once Sony got into their stride. <...
very funny, good find.
ps3 vs 360 is starting to smell a lot like ps2 vs dreamcast by the day.
you know dreamcast had the best games for a short while too.
i got about half way and I though... "this article is a joke"
talking about how much power the PS3 uses FFS... it was about there that anyone must have realised this authors bias is out of control and perhaps he needs help or something.
Edit: BTW I own both 360 and PS3 and I'll be getting the PS3 version.
i've got both 360 and PS3 and appart from Mass Effect everything I've bought in the last 6 months has been on PS3 and I'd agree with this article... i.e. games are pretty much the same between 360 and PS3 these days.
I personally buy for PS3 because the system is quiet and I like the pad.
10. Kurushi Final (Puzzle)
That's all I needed to hear... excellent news.
I don't know for sure but I bet MS make Achievement implementation mandatory, whereas Sony will leave it to whether or not the dev want to implement it... and 'that's' the reason the EA guy effectively said
"What's in it for us?"
If Sony don't force devs to do it they probably won't.
I want XMB in game as much as anyone but...
"Talk to others during game play" - already does this (eg. most online shooters etc.)
", say hello
anytime you’re online" - doesn't mean in game
", or have a video chat with
an Eye camera; USB Camera or headset." - again doesn't mean ingame.
it doesn't say: "During gameplay you can talk to others say hello or have video chat"
People hav...
"Touch Screen, UMD-free, PSP2 - experts claim"
yeah... it's called an iPhone!
I agree with wil4hire, the PS3 is gaining momentum and 360 is losing momentum. Despite all their efforts MS just gave Sony a bit of a scare and cought them on the hop.
This year I think Sony will be in a much more competative mood and will start releasing their heavy hitters. 360 on the other hand has already blown it's load (Halo 3, PGR, Forza).
Interesting times ahead.
the best thing MS could do right now is launch a reliable console that's quiet because in terms of performance (graphics etc.) and online functionality they're ahead.
Japan and Europe just don't like buying things that break down a lot.
(BTW: I'm sure the USA like reliability too but I guess they care about their own economy too).
Come on MS put some 'real' effort into making RROD a thing of the past... not just stick a 3 year warranty on everything. <...
they led on 360 and are now trying to defend that decision, and the PS3 will sadly probably suffer.
spend 2 years developing a game for a 360 then "a month or two" trying to butcher it into a PS3 like all other 360 led cross platform dev... just because the tools are probably a bit easier to use.
I have to disagree about Mass Effect proving DVD is big enough. As much as I like the game it is only 50+ hours if you like doing the same mission with a different theme applied to the colour scheme over and over... the main game is 12 hrs and most of that is reading and walking from point A to point B and the back to A and then back to B again.
I beleive DVD is big enough for a different reason and it has more to do with the cost of developing more than 7 ot 8 GB's of graphical ...
is this based on 2 weeks?
what a joke, anyone knows statistics like this are too short sighted. we should look at the figures over 12 weeks or so not 2!!
there are ways around stuff like that... like sending a 'PAUSE' message to the game or something and then swapping out some of the RAM to the HDD (which remeber is in all PS3).
Howver I will say that they should use a Mini XMB to keep the interface simple.
this is sloppy by Eurogamers standards.
as much as I wanted to like it... it left me cold. There was quite a bit of v sync tearing too.
I wanted to like this but it failed to impress, I guess what I'm saying is... Don't get your hopes up too much on this one and if you can... wait for the 'real' version.
The previews weren't too favorable and knowing how much Free Radical take pride in what they do I think they've asked (and got) more time for development.
Either that or now isn't a good time for the accountants.
I'd hardly call the 360 compatible if you got to do all of that... you know use a PC to download the DRM'd file then stream it etc.
May as well just watch it on the PC in the first place.
