People that grew up with Mario, Sonic, Crash, etc etc etc will like this game. What's with this "hardcore" stuff. Why write a game off because of its kiddy look. Honestly, keep in mind all those cute hardcore RPGS. Most "hardcore gamers" love that crap. I am excited to buy it so I can play it with my son. But honestly next week is all about FALLOUT 3!!!!!!!
However LBP is going to turn into a huge cultural smash hit.
I'll give it to you, lets say Gears does sell way better this holiday season. It most likely will. But little big planet will be a huge seller long after the Gears of War 2 and Fable have peaked. LBP will be like a fine wine. It will only get better with age.

I want PS1 amd PS2 BC
I don't understand why Sony isn't advertising this game. They need to put their money in all areas. I want my PS3 to have that 10 year life cycle. If I was a developer I would get pissed if I made this great game as an exclusive, and the big wigs at Sony just sat on their hands thinking word of mouth was enough.
Its not enough when two other systems have a significant lead. And before everyone tries to say I am in the tank for Microsoft know this. I only own PS3.
I think it was its length that killed the sales and the reviews. People just will not pay $60 for an 8 hour game. They should have made it half priced and announced it as a interactive PS3 exclusive blue ray movie.
The Darkness was a special game. Anyone that hasn't played it really should. Graphically I think its stunning. Just look around the subways and you'll see every little detail. It is gory and fun as hell. One of my all time favorite games.
As for Folklore - I had been up in the air on buying it. But after reading all these good comments about it I think I just might give it a try.
Killzone one was not that bad. It wasn't anything really new, but it was sufficient.
This game is going to do for PS3 what Halo did for Xbox. The Playstation brand and Killzone will become synonymous with each other.

Any game that is shorter than 25 hours is a rental. No difference with this one. There are way to many games coming out this month that I want to play :(

That's funny I thought that it was only the fans that embraced the movie. And that is why it was a flop. And just so you know they are doing another movie. It will be a different director and writer. I guess that would make you happy.
I think that the Silent Hill movie stood on it own. And the games Stand on their own. Look at the new game however and what do you see? The game copying the movie. That says a little something of the art direction of the movie. It was so well done it influenced the inspiration. How often does that happen?

They should do god of war exactly like the Lord of the Rings. Each game gets its own epic movie. Seriously god of war is the one game that could cross into the main stream movie audience and be a standout success.
I have to say though.. Silent Hill was AWESOME!!!
It felt like the game.
Just imagine if a God of War movie has the feel of the game.
I don't think that X-Play is biased. I just think they have bad reviews. Take for example their review for The Darkness. I know this is an old game. But X-Play gave it a 2 out of 5. That game deserved so much more. The Darkness was awesome all the way through. Does anyone know if there is a sequel in the works?

This X-mas will be all about Gears of War, Little Big Planet, and my guess would be GTA 4. I say GTA 4 because it is still selling well and should pick up some steam going into the holidays.
