There is already a feature that allows you to lock your FPS. It's called vsync or Vetical Sync. It locks your FPS to the vertical refresh rate of your tv/Monitor to reduce tearing and wasting resources to push for a frame rate that your tv/monitor can't even produce. The major difference between what everybody else here is talking about is you can't control the lock level to the level of frames that you want. It's locked to the vertical refresh rate, whatever that may be.

Could XB1 be this generations Pippin?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...

The XB1 seems to be having an identity crisis. It's like a teenage girl with low self-esteem in high school trying anything and everyone just to find her "click". Yeah, she may be easy but you wouldn't really brag to your friends about her either based on reputation alone. (just making a point about...

Best. Game. Ever!

I don't believe so but it's been a while since I've seen that footage. I remember there being a lot of play in the street and in a few buildings for sure.

@Kavorklestein
It's kind of like the folding@home feature on the PS3. You share the computation power with other users across a network to form one giant peer-to-peer supercomputer for Stanford University.(serious) That said, MS bought a lot of PS3s that still have the "other OS" feature and have them all in sync running Linux forming a mini-supercomputer to provide this Azure Cloud service. (sarcasm)

Fact: Sony had the same problem. It was called "ylod" or yellow light of death. Both RROD and YLOD were an overheating issue.

Fact: The issue was actually unrelated to either company. At the same time both consoles were released, RoHS(look it up)rolled out and lead free solder had to be used in all electronics moving forward. The new solder, usually tin, was horrible. It broke down and cracked from constant overheating and cooling.

Sony foresaw this...

Xbox 360 overheated and red ringed on release and no one bats an eye. PS4 gets one chat service error and everyone loses their mind.

This is a price for the Black chest edition. Not the game its self.

Games are designed for the device with the lowest specifications which makes it easier to port over.

Take the PS3 specs and build a pc with the same or similar specs with 5 yr old tech. I'll give you some lee way on the CPU and allow a current 3 yr old quad core.

Now try playing this game on this extremely poor budget, thrift store PC and get better frame rates and visual graphics than the PS3. Then the consoles would "be on even ground" with PCs.

I think the name of this device is a little misleading. When I read "pulse", I was thinking a device that would check you pulse, blood pressure, temperature, etc, etc... Basically, a device that can make an educated guess at your current mental state. I.E: Fear/anxiety levels. If it senses you are getting pissed off at the game, it would suggest taking a break. This of course could be disabled. Maybe I thinking ahead too far again.

"innovation in control input" - I think he means touchscreen capabilities. With that said, he's an idiot. The PSVita will be the touchscreen for the PS3 with remote play as an added feature. There is a touchpad on the controller as well. What "innovation" is he looking for, augmented reality? The world isn't ready for AR to be just for a console. AR is best as eyewear with a mobile device and not for games but for information gathering and receiving.

Well now that it's a lighting thing, this is awesome. superb lighting effects.

Maybe, it's been over 3 or so years since I've touched GoW3. The graphics are a little fuzzy from memory and youtube vids don't really do it justice.

4714d ago 2 agree10 disagreeView comment

This is about the same as GoW level of graphic detail. The lighting effects in this are way better. I think there might be more detailed textures but they look the same as current gen from a distance. We would really be able to tell a major difference in texture once we can zoom in and look at a few inches on the screen. In MGS4, it looks great but as soon as you zoom in, the pixels really show.

It's hit or miss with the GPUs. I had 2 250gts hooked up in sli. One got so hot that it melted a few of the transistors and resistors off. The other was perfectly fine and I still use it. You have a 680 or whatever that hasn't overheated, good for you. I didn't disagree with you. It was usually the low end models that were affected anyways. The cheap ones.

I am surprised however that you did not receive any from the manufacturers listed in the lawsuit while workin...
