.... On the otherhand though, I have to pay money for games i already paid for on the ps3 just to be able to play them without the ps3....
You purchased the Ps3 edition of the game. If you want to continue to play that version, undust the PS3 and play the game on it.
In a a way, its sorta like backward compatibility. IF you really want to play your old games, just keep your old console.
@morgan,
You are assuming that digital titles you already OWN on PS3, will be yours to play for FREE on Playstation now.
I am 99.85 percent sure, that you are sh*t out of luck and have to buy those games again.
You can make money off Twitch streams and recoop the price.
Here's how:

I really don't recommend doing these steps.
When you mess with your DNS servers, some changes don't happen automatically on laptops or tablets. What's good for your "consoles" isn't necessarily good for your other network devices (laptops, phones, tablets etc).
Also some programs might make static entries to your local host file, or specifically for a program to override for application updates. When certain programs are installed on...
Without Microsoft, PSN wouldn't of gotten better and PS+ probably wouldn't exist.
Competition breeds innovation.
I think it was far too early to unbundle the camera.
Even if the Console is 4 million behind the PS4, it still too early to do this.
They should of kept camera, and somehow make the Xboxone backwards compatible or offer a xbox1 that can play 360 games.
Microsoft shouldn't worry about Sony but on converting Xbox360 owners to future XboxOne owners.
Six Tips to ATTEND E3 2014.
1) Work as a Booth Babe/Stud game rep. If you are not in shape to do so, skip this option.
2) Get a job at a major gaming site i.e. gamespot, ign, etc. Suck up to the Boss, and tell them you will get exclusive interviews. Plan on being terminated after e3.
3) Create a videogame (it's really really easy- trust me), push it out to sony/ea/microsoft and ask to help show the game. Will you get your own booth? Who k...
^^^^
I get what your saying, but the average consumer will see a 50 inch LED TV and go for the cheaper version as long as it states its "FullHD" or if netflix is built in.
I do agree that the lifespan of TV's is alot longer now compared to the old CRTs. I think that is why Samsung/Sony/toshiba are pushing 4k displays.
My point is that Sony's marketing skew cater towards more high end. If they can get that one college stude...
Yea I think that vision is now been changed.
Why would a developer waste time and other resources to implement a feature that is not standard with all Xboxs?
Sorta like how Playstation Move controllers work with the playstation 4 camera, yet I can't think of one game that supports them besides the tech-demo.
Twitch/Ustream are still valid options.
But early adopters were rewarded with backwards compatibility.
i.e. they could play playstation 2 games.
It seems like every other day there is a game announced coming out on the Ps4.
Did you include the Studio's for Sony online entertainment?
Did you subtract the Microsoft studios that only make tablet games and TV?
If a studio has more than 1 project team i.e. Naughty dog, black tusk.. Does that count as two?
I don't see that happening - unless they come out with a 99$ model. The lowest version, the 12gig model should be rebranded with a focus on a blu-ray/netflix player that can also rent movies/tv on demand.
This "console" also happens to play games.
I agree to a point. Sony has a "positive stigma" when it comes to new TV technologies especially when the Consumer Electronic Show rolls around.
It just seems that the R&D in Sony TV division keep backing the "wrong" horse.
OLED --->great picture! was super expensive when it first came out
3-d TV ---> Pretty much all TV manufactures aren't pushing it anymore due to the negative aspects of 3d i.e. headaches,gl...
Sooner that later, a product hits a saturation point.
In laments terms, basically the console hit a point where the main demographic has it already.
It happened to the Wii at approximately 100mil. That was probably due to the initial marketing of a "console for everyone" i.e. kids --> Parents --> Grand parents. When Nintendo, saw that sales were signifigantly trending down, it was planning to release the WiiU.

@jay-
You do realize that costs associated with ps4 launch was more than likely related to lemons, marketing, and sell through (i.e. transporting the consoles to stores in November).
Also the report states in that Sony Online entertainment has some titles "bomb". SOE is grouped with SCE(house of all things playstation).
For info on what "bombed" go here:

uh mobile i.e. Phone and tablet did awesome as well as Financials i.e. sony credit cards and the insurance they sell in Japan.

the way Microsoft is flipping and flopping, Iwould be surprised if they reimplement DRM at this point.
Abriel you make it sound like everyone knows that. I understand you may be a web designer etc, but these very "general" directions can cause more trouble than its worth.
You also forget to mention to the reader that changing your routers DNS settings effects ALL devices on network not just your console.
Also these changes only really improve name request, since games networking uses layer 3 with nating to servers via port numbers, DNS does not hel...
