The game had so much content! and was the only game to feature a level editor in a FPS on consoles. The 4 player player games were a blast too.
Story really impacts a games review especially if the game is solely single player. For $60 bucks a pop (USD) I know I want a game with these features in this order:
Gameplay > Content > Story > graphics > Challenge
Still a 8.7 isn't bad at all, and for people who like action games this should be a day 1 purchase. Personally in my opinion anything above a 8.5 is a game that is definitely worth my time.

I am just hoping I can use the guitar Hero 3 "guitar". That would be some complete bull#$@^ if I had to buy another guitar.
BTW even if guitar hero is ripping off the idea, Guitar 3 had way better music than Rock band in the core game play (on the game cd itself)
I also thought the DLC was better for guitar hero 3 vs, Rockband which may have had more DLC, but it was covers and bands I never heard of.

This might be geeky, but I am trying the to do the same thing. I don't know if its worth it in Cod4, since all you get are some of the worse golden type of weapons. AK sucks, the M60 is ok, the M21>dragonuv, and golden uzi? But trying to unlock stuff to some people is like snorting "nose candy". Is it really necessary, no but its fun.

I think blu-ray is needed, and the installs are needed as well.

Only downside to the ps3 blu-ray tech was that read speed should of been a tad faster. However most developer get over this aspect and actually duplicate the game up to 4 times on the same disc to increase loading times. Smart bastards.

For a 2d game this game took way too long in development. They had better not nerfed Dahlism or ryu. I do hope they nerfed Zangief, that hairy bastard.

Also the reason for installs is to reduce load speeds. The disc reader speed is about the same as xbox, but the the laser has alot more "ground to cover".
The data from the installs are data that is always needed since its a common element in the whole game i.e. music, voices, etc. I would be pretty pissed off if every game was like Elder scrolls 4 where I would walk 50 feet and the game would give me a message: "Streaming from disc"
