I will buy this game, for the Hoff. If they add Chuck Norris, I will rebuy the game just to show support.
But in "reality" Chuck Norris can not be simulated in any game. The only game to come close is Mortal Kombat. However Chuck doesn't do combos, he does 1-hit finishers.
If the game does come out it will probally be ruined, I think you are right that perhaps Sony should purchase the IP. I don't know if Square will part with it so easily however.

Sony already speculated at bringing StarWars Galaxies and EVE to the PS3.

First off, saying your going to do a price cut in the near future would be not only bad business but really stupid.
Once news gets wind that the PS3 will be dropping price, current sales would be effected and a lot of loss revenue will go out the window.
And if you look in the PAST, SONY has NEVER given the public a
"heads up" that a price cut is coming down the pipe. Why would this time be any different?
