Sorry buddy, Final Fantasy 7, and Ocarina of Time are classic, no way around that. Remake these old titles so that this generation of gamers can see exactly why it is crap.

JRPGs are still very much alive, they just lost some thunder is the US. These sites take one dip in JRPG sales as a sign that nobody wants them anymore. It really is about what region you live in though. Go to japan, and you have no luck finding a huge fanbase for GTA or CoD. However JRPGs are the treasure of japanese gaming. Here in America, they just do not sell as much as Cod anymore, so people consider them a "dead" genre. it is just plain stupid.

Sony has so little in tersm of true 1st party titles. Most Ps3 excluisves this gen are 2nd/3rd party titles that are produced by sony. Also, the core gamer argument is just not powerful anymore. Core gamers are a low minority in the gaming world. May it be mobile, handhelds, or even home consoles casual gaming. I do consider myself a core gamer, but these companies want to be relevant in the changing market, and to do that, you must target the majority. Do not abandon core gaming all together, but a pure core gaming console is just financial suicide.

Nintendo has stated that they will not sell at a loss from day one, so even if they sell as much as the gamecube, then it is still profit, profit, profit. That means more Nintendo hardware. Nintendo is not a new company to the masses, put a Nintendo console on a shelf, and it WILL sell, plus not selling at a loss really doe snot give it any significant negatives. If Nintendo makes profit off of 21 million gamecubes, then logic and reason dictate that the Wii U will be fine.
