Bungie has revealed that the secret, non-Halo game it's working on is still not signed to a publisher - but suggested a deal is "close".
I am thinking this is still with MS but that they haven't worked out a deal yet, I don't understand why they would not want to go with the team that supported the most, and would put the most effort in.
I am Looking forward to this, the first 6 months of 2010 are going to be crazy for game releases and this title is at the top of my games that I have to buy.

MS owns the Halo IP, when they allowed Bungie to go Independent they lost their rights to the Halo IP. From that point MS started building a super team to continue the series, Gamasutra has many job postings for that team. Frank O'Conner the Halo Lore Guru from Bungie leads the entire division and it has Ryan whats his face from MGS4 is on it, and so is one of the best programmers in the world.
