Japan is the world's Smallest game market, NA is first followed by Europe followed by Japan.

Halo 3 doesn't need Japan to sell well, it sold 9.8 million copies last time without Japan. SSBB has never outsold a Halo game or any other major franshise.
See Nintendo may sell the most hardware, but when was the last time you saw a Wii game in the top 20 of any chart? DS games sell like hotcakes but not Wii games.
WoW i completely disagree with you, Final Fantasy has never in a single game beaten Halo even in WorldWide sales, there are 12 games and 40 million copies sold. There are 2 Halo games and something like 12 million sold.
Also Ratchet and Clank is not a system mover its a staple, its not something that people line up for hours on end to get like they do for MGS or FF.
HS is an unproven franshise and Socom is again not a system mover.

PS1 and PS2 numbers shouldn't be looked at, that was a time when Nintendo and sega both crashed and burned and Sony was allowed to take the crown without much work, this is the first big battle since sega came onto the scene.
This isn't new information on the cell, its not like they just found this thing, its just that there aren't entire aticles on every part of a processor, cause most people wouldn't find it to be information thats important to their gaming experience.
The point is RFOM doesn't play as good as Halo, and just like Starcraft, and World of warcraft, in the end gamers only really care about gameplay and the pretty games never hold a candle to games with timeless gameplay.

Dropping the price with their line up would really help them stomp on the face of sony and solidfy its dominance for awhile longer.
I would be very surprised if MS didn't have a price drop to go along with Halo 3, that would pretty much seal the deal and easly get Halo 3 to surpass Halo 2 in sales.
