so yes you could have a virus on the ps3 if they find an exploit to install unofficial FW, but this would be a nice punishment for the pirates who would want to use custom FW to run burned games

NO, YOU'RE WRONG, adaware, spyware,virusses can't install and execute themselfes on the PS3 cuz there are no directory's where they can run themselves(only the directories VIDEO,MUSIC,PICTURES,GAMESAVES and PS/PSGAMESAVES are available for the user, and in there no programs can be executed), also the OS(including the browser) can't be infected because the firmware can only be rewritten if you got a digital signiture of sony(cf. only sony can change the OS)

didn't play much deatchmatch, most of the time just free mode, where I had helicopter vs car chases or copter vs copter with friends... such things make gta4 unique. Don't know any who can offer such unique moments.

stop sh!tting on GTA4, it's still the best GTA I ever played. I had a blast with the free mode online, and driving over people was never such fun with those physics. people complained it had become to realistic, but I just liked that added realism. I also have saints row 2 but i really disliked the unrealistic and childish car handling.
the only negative point of gta4 I agree with are the friends activities, but you can just ignore them.
the lightning is much better on the PS3, also many textures are better, so the differences are anything but small.

they do repair ylod for free even without warranty, but the warranty seal of your ps3 must be intact which isn't the case with your ps3 anymore by trying to fix it.

don't confuse java and javascript, javascript is essential to a browser, java is heavy(the javalibrary must be loaded in the memory) and for special applications.
the real problem with the current browser is the poor(or maybe non existent) hardware acceleration, in other words: the graphics isn't used for flash(this explains why there is no hq button in youtube on the ps3)
also the current browser is poorly programmed with many memory leaks
