To "put in" backward compatibility they would have needed to "put in" the cell processor among other things inside the PS4 causing the price to skyrocket... Remember the PS3 launch? The first PS3's were B/C, and to achieve that had the PS2's emotion engine installed in every PS3, which was a factor in the sky high pricing, they tried to emulate this later via software but there's a list of ps2 games and their problems on wiki, wasn't the greatest thing... ...

To create the 3d effect it essentially shows 2 images slightly off set... So a 60fps game becomes a 30fps game when in 3D due to having to basically process it twice.

Which is even worse! To be reduced as some minor character in some random ass game is a shame. Naughty Dog has its hands full so i wouldn't expect anything from them if Sony did "get it back", the Donkey Kong Country series has made a very nice comeback in the hands of another developer so anything could be possible.

I'm not sure how true that is but my console is currently disconnected from the internet and Resogun/Contrast boot up fine, only network related things are disabled obviously, the F2P games like blacklight/warframe also boot up but you cannot play them as they are online only games.
