@ nirwanda
Although I personally think digital is an inevitable future, I'm of the mindset that it's a very long way off.
I wouldn't say pricing is the issue, it's the fact most of the world doesn't have the internet speed to make use of it.
@ matgrowcott
I don't feel this is the same as boycotting a game. Essentially they still had access to the game, whereas this isn't the case with digital, a lo...
So because Watch Dogs was running on a PC built with similar specs that means everything huh?
Go ask Mark Rein what he thinks of PS4 running the UE4 engine in real-time
Worst thing about any new announcement for any system is always the damage conTroll
So do tell. You say the media are jumping the gun and you feel that way up there on your self-built pedestal your opinion is somehow valid?
I wonder what you could teach all the devs about game design? It seems your way more in the know than the rest of us.
On another topic, what the hell do you think MS are bringing then?
Also since you seem to be having a fangasm over PC GPU's. I guess were just not acknowledging the fact that PC optimi...
@Jek_Porkins
That's true, however it requires 10 years of ongoing membership. So $600 later, it's not as charitable as it first seems.
11pm UK time
Yes because there are so many gamers who would actually go punch the guy in the face rather than moan from their keyboard. :/
Here's the problem, remember the article that claimed the game was completely outsourced? It was a rumor and still is, why does every rumor on N4G suddenly turn to fact?
Im not saying it isn't a possibility, just that rumors become fact too fast on N4G
I would say it fell short on more than just a business standpoint too.
I agree it is a great game, I managed to sink a considerable amount of time into the Donkey Kong game, but I haven't found much me and my friends would sink much time into together.
Wii Sports had Golf and Bowling, both of which got played many times with groups on my system and I haven't seen anything on NL that would fit that goal either, despite having tried all the MP games too...
Well I will say that there is certainly some missing pieces in their puzzle. For one the creator claims to be a veteran of the games industry, yet he appears to have no background with any particularly notable companies within the industry.
What then begins to raise a lot of suspicion is his LinkedIn profiles and other social networking profiles all tend to state that he lives in completely different places.
Careful Septic that's a lot of sense your making there, it's borderline dangerous round here.
Seriously though, I don't blame the gamers for the reception the Wii-U is receiving. I blame the journalists. Gaming media is the cause.
Unless the standard for gaming journalism is raised then we're gonna be stuck with these sorts of crappy baseless opinions springing up all over the place.
I'm not even on about the writing skil...
@PopRocks
Lets just say I paid more than the you probably did for Sonic the Hedgehog 3
@Zebra
Well if it did perform better then it would actually breach their current contract with Microsoft. I'm not trolling MS either it's genuinely a part of the contract for publishing a game for their system.
@Moncole
I wouldn't dispute a point like that, I just get tired of people like Miles giving PC gamers a bad name, I'd bet he doesn't even own a PC and is out purely to make PC gamers look bad.
I guess what I was trying to say is this isn't a game that will really benefit from having an almighty rig anyway since it's not demanding and the console version looks great too so it seems silly to troll an article based on the obvious differences ...
@Milesprowers
Congrats, I'm officialy ashamed I even wasted the time to explain anything to you in the first place. Marked trolling....get used to that.
Actually in this case it doesn't. Going by digital foundry the PC version is inconsistent. Sure the overall textures and frame rates are better as expected, however the backgrounds don't mesh well due to the fact they don't upscale.
Technically the PC version is superior but the experience in play could bug an eagle-eyed gamer.
PS. Why did this even get posted? The Digital Foundry tech analysis was done months ago and the general consensus among t...
I hope your equally ashamed for MS for not making all original Xbox games compatible and also Ninty for double charging (at a significantly lower price) customers for their digital content to be ported to the Wii-U OS.
If you look at the history then actually PS3 had the greatest BC functionality any console has ever had, with the original system capable of playing anything from Sony's entire history in the industry. No other console has ever had a system compatible with ...
Agreed, it's the exchange that is the cause of the internet speeds and it's something that BT have no intention of fixing soon here in the UK.
Their previous plan was to upgrade the entire country by the end of this year but its not happening anymore. In fact most rural areas are at least 2 years from being put on the list, let alone actually upgraded.
Honestly I doubt streaming will be viable for a long time. If here in the UK were lagging behind I c...
Gaikai may well prove to be used for a lot more than just demos and I agree that it could change gaming forever but I wouldn't benefit from it due to internet speeds so I personally hope it's a long way off as yet.
Also, did nobody else notice this article is not listed as an opinion piece and the author repeatedly states his assumptions as outright fact? The article projects itself horribly and I'm glad everyone here knows enough to realize it's speculation a...
Thanks for the explanation. That deserves an intelligent bubble!
I think I recall hearing once that the number 4 is considered unlucky in Japan, so I suppose that could give some leverage to the console perhaps being renamed.
Personally I think they will bite the luck bullet and go with 4 anyway. Not to mention that it's almost coming full circle for Sony by reaching number for.
The 4 iconic button symbols in the initial trailer stood out to me as making a point about the number 4, but I could be reading too deep.
I don't hate on the new, it's the matter that my internet speed would mean I would have to wait multiple days to get my game.
And considering it's going to be at least 3 years before our exchange here even gets considered for an upgrade so that's a lot of games I would miss out on purchasing.
It's a matter of seeing both sides of the coin. To ask people to deal with it is basically asking them to move house so they can play games.
