I think they'll be about even as well. Especially since a PS3 is going to be $399 here. Heck, the majority of 360 consoles were sold at that price.
I hope it at least gets close to the Wii in sales. If it can't then I have no idea what other "catalyst" will help it.
I'd rather hear that they're investing money to make sure Mass Effect 2 & 3 are exclusive to their platform. Their userbase is probably the most hardcore, and I can't imagine this being something that they really wanted.
I don't care what score they give the game, as long as they're consistent with similar titles on other platforms. With that said, Gamespot usually gives the lowest scores of all gaming sites. I don't know about bias, but there's a definite weirdness going on with PS3 game reviews. I wonder what this game would have gotten had it been exclusive to the 360 (probably an 8 or 8.5).
(Btw, I'd venture a guess that Uncharted will probably get 7's and 8's as well).
I'm not into Halo, but even I thought that it'd top the charts for more than a week.
360 would have been dead before Gears launched (they had Oblivion and GRAW - we have Resistance and NGS). Be patient my friend. Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither will the PS3's library.
But that whole post was from Joystiq, I'll put it all in quotes. Good news is, with the way people are complaining, I think they'll find some way to work around this. Bad news is, people will just find something else to complain about!
"Update: With some help from Engadget Japan's Ittousai, we have found diagrams indicating the switch from Emotion Engine + Graphic Synthesizer chip to just a graphics synthesizer chip, implying the software emulation was partially hardware-supported (as noted by many commenters). If that's the case, then, the ability to download emulation software later may not be possible. We don't want to spread misinformation, so for further clarification we have contacted Sony for a definitive answer...
Is it out of the question to trade in a old PS2 or sell it on Ebay and use that cash towards the purchase of the 60 GB PS3?
"the most active Xbox LIVE gaming day in history"?
LOL!
Nothing better than free stuff. Microsoft sure knows how to spread the love sometimes.
I was totally expecting this to be backwards (Microsoft getting the deal).
You should put systems on Ebay. Never trade any systems in to Gamestop/EB...
Most people will just see a cheaper PS3 and get it. This didn't happen with the 20 GB because no one was buying PS3s besides the hardcore. The only sku that cripples anything is the 360's arcade/basic version. It doesn't allow developers use the full potential of the better systems (premium & elite). Last time I checked, you didn't need BC in order to develop current games. But yeah, it does suck @ss that it's not included, that would have made this deal even more amazing.
Comprehension and emotional issues are the best you can come up with? The "diabeetus" man is disappointed. You fail. However, it does take a big man (especially in the cesspool that is N4G) to correct a dumb post. So you get props at the same time. Now let's never fight again, honey.
Can you read? If I hated all that is Xbox, why would I own one? If you read 3.3, I'm sure you saw 3.4 as well in which I talked about Blue Dragon (I said I really like it). It's good to know that someone who doesn't like what I write on here seems to be a little retarded :-)
That'd be great so everyone can enjoy it. I don't know about it being exclusive though. SE already said that they make like 2/3 of their income from the Japanese market. So if they want to sell in Japan, they're going to have to at least release it on PS3 in Japan.
Analog sticks work about the same on 360 as they do on PS3 (imo- PS3's are better, but who cares). The only time a shoulder button is used in Blue Dragon (so far, I just started a week ago) is if I want to battle more than one enemy on the map. I don't know about the look better argument either...BD has some frame issues and a little slowdown in places. Not enough to say the game is crap or anything ( I really like it), but it is noticable.
Uh...were they supposed to change recently? Did some good game release in Japan that was supposed to make sales rise? I don't get it. A better article would have been,"Wii hardware sales still fall",...or did anyone not notice that sales have drastically dropped from like 70-80k a week to around 20 now.
