^At least a handful of sports games (Tennis, Bowling, MLB and maybe even FIFA Street) and lots of PSN games (Wipeout, Fat Princess, Stardust) ran with 1920x1080p. The new consoles are said to be 10x as powerful so 1080p shouldbecome the standard for games since it's the standard for TV's for years now.
Yes, just compare 720p with 1080p on your PC... it makes a huge difference in image quality. We shouldn't even bother with 720p on these "next gen" machines anymore, even the PS3 had lots of native 1080p games.
^In 2-3 years PS4 also has games from Naughty Dog, Santa Monica, Media Molecule, From Software, Quantic Dream and many others that you can't find on PC... meanwhile, PC's that outclass the PS4 will cost you 3x as much.
That is actually mind-boggling, in some cases I would've even paid money to play a showfloor demo. SharePlay really opens up a bunch of new possibilities.
Rule #1 of gaming: Don't fall into DoritoPope's hype... I believe it when I see it.
^Don't forget Remote Play! Sony has done some amazing things in the past few years, that's why I'm supporting them since the PS1 days.
Free? Well there's no way around it then... downloading now even though it's not for me.
Because visuals would suffer, you can't just magically double the framerate. Driveclub for example runs perfectly fine at 30fps and it looks stunning, it just needs to be done right.
Dark Souls on PC plays much better with 60fps but I understand what he wants to say. On consoles, you have to find a sweetspot between graphics and performance and 30fps are just fine if done right (= no drops and low frametimes)
I'm completely okay with 30fps for Bloodborne as long as we don't get another Blighttown...
You have to, especially if you didn't get to play it before. One of the best strategy RPG's ever created, it's so sad that it wasn't a commercial success which resulted in Sega continuing the series on handhelds. I really hope this is true because it could mean that a new game is in development.
The start of every generation until today, was like this. The really good stuff always started with year 2 and 3.
Not even Halo 5 will be enough to close these kind of gaps.
Yeah, 10 million early adopters are blinded by the hype, that must be Sony's damned secret!
Don't watch.
Sony completely owns Q1/2015, I think there are more reasons to buy a PS4 this Christmas.
It's certainly not a flop, it's very enjoyable and it sold good. The general opinion of Driveclub will shift once the server issues are resolved, PS+ version is released and weather+replays are implemented.
I can't see any downsides to this, it's like asking "Is there a downside to custom themes?"
It gives you the option to share a game with a friend, if anything it's one of the coolest features we've seen this gen that you can easily ignore if you'd like to. Sony doesn't gain much by offering it, this is truly #4ThePlayers
Lightning is probably the biggest graphical feature that we will see "re-invented" during this generation. Can't wait to see how Naughty Dog uses this technology if Tomorrow Children looks so impressive coming from a team of just 35 people.
With comments like these you will lose your bubbles pretty fast.
Really? That would be so awesome.
