the reason they give scores in each category, is so you see how well it did in each category. Each category is not equally important. By making it an average, you would have presentation just as important as gameplay. Are the menus as important as how the game plays??? Of course not.

i am an xbox 360 fan (not fanboy), but the game isn't that bad. It is an average score and deserves about 6-7/10 ti be honest. I suppose the only reason it is getting so many low scores is becuase what it was made out to be.
Lets pretend halo 3 and another shooter came out at the same time. They had equal gameplay, online, graphics, sound, etc. And it was an "average" game, nothing great. Halo 3 would obviously be graded much harder and receive a lower score than ...

BTW, home has most of it features copied form the 360 which is somewhat funny.
