The only top tier game in that list as Dark Souls 3, but you can't really say Japan struck back with this since Souls games have been releasing consistently for the past few years.
They'll strike back when we get a Final Fantasy that is as critically acclaimed as the classics and when Team Ico make a game on par with SOTC and Ico.
Which isn't a good thing. Gaming, and specifically controls, have improved since the PS2 days.
What do you mean by successful - did it sell well? Did it meet critic and player expectations? I don't know how you're measuring success and I don't know how me pointing out a weakness shows that I'm oblivious to it's so called success.

I didnt play gears 4 mp much but Last of us turned pay to win with shotguns and other op weapons. Im really not looking forward to last of us 2's multiplayer if they do this again.

Not every game needs a sequel. Last of Us didn't need a sequel
These studios are big enough to make a new IP + the sequel we want.
Explain how owning a PS4 (which I do) will negate my prior mentioned statement, that is relevant to all consoles and games.

Naughty Dogs newest games defo feel simple and limited. I like them, but I feel like im on a rollercoaster with and anchor strapped to the bottom. Jak and Daxter needs to return because there was skill based platforming and a large variety of gameplay types which isnt seen in modern ND games.
