Considering no announcement of GTA V(and even if it was announced it would probably be released late 2012/ early 2013) I find it would be near difficult to steal the thunder. How can you steal the thunder of a game that will probably be released a year later? If they were a month apart, yes, it could probably steal it's thunder.
Sounds like you weren't very interested in the game to begin with then. Nothing about the game is being changed. No one forces you to buy the skins. It will have no impact on the game whatsoever.
My comment had nothing to do with whether you like Gears or not I was commenting on why you would split a bargain bin price. It's already in the bargain bin, the price shouldn't be high enough to have to split.
