You can clearly see, by the way It is written, that this person isn't a fan of MS. The way he draws certain conclusions is totally unjustified with a lot of misinformation.
I highly doubt that one studio is currently still helping MS with big changes to the general code, since it might conflict with other studios if the changes are that big. I believe it has more to do with small additions/tweaks than the way it has been written here.

One thing I don't understand with removing noise. Isn't it possible to 'read' the type of sound that the xbox one is going to output and use that data to remove the speaker noise partly? Or is that a part of the way it works?

That's completely your right :) I am a person who totally loves the Windows 8 look. It is very clean and easy to look at. Also never understood the negativity towards windows 8. Since nobody is forced to use the startscreen. But negativity always comes with new stuff.

As far as I know the PS4 'copied' certain possibilities from directX. They don't support it in itself.
Yes you can probably get the most out of hardware with openGL. But there is a reason why directX is currently still the market leader.
Why should he? Mantle isn't needed for the consoles, since they already code closer to the metal than PC's. Mantle is for PC's what console coding has always been for consoles. You only have one hardware spec to work towards, which allows you to get more out of the hardware.

I'm getting (just like I have now) XBLG, since I am going for an xbox one (and have an xbox 360). The only reason is so that I can play online and that it is a good service overall. With the Xbox One being able to skype with my GF while playing a game is also a plus.
For the free games PS+ is the best thing. Another plus of Playstation itself is that you don't have to pay for apps that are normally also free. It is totally insane that Skype and IE will be behind the X...
The responses here show enough. MS can't do good on this website whatever they say. I also had 3-4 Xbox 360's due to RROD and other issues. This is one of the reasons why I am confident that they have done everything in their power to make the system as safe as possible.
Issues can always arise, but i am quite certain it will never be on a RROD scale. The service during the RROD fiasco was furthermore excellent, so if something happens it will be dealt with properly. I never had to pay for any repairs.

I agree with you Septic. People make too big a problem out of things. What is the difference between saying: We will not do it and we will give you the option to do it or not? If you don't do anything about the settings, it is just the same as MS not doing it. If you somehow like to share that data, then that is an option you can choose.

What a BS. Of course it can do this, its a camera for crying out loud. The Pseye or any pc camera can also do this if the content is delivered through the same channel. MS has always given the option to opt in or out for any data sent through the internet.

Mxrider2199 you clearly do not understand what great games are. Alan Wake was really a strong and intense title. That it doesn't appeal to you doesn't mean that it isn't a great title. This game gave me some kind of feeling that rarely any/if any game has done before.
