I honestly didn't see the texture quality difference you are talking about. Atleast not from the vid that I saw (though that was with colorblind mode on)
Looks great :) Is he actually starting two X1s at the same time (the one in the reflection of the screen?) :P
Furthermore it seems there is still some kind of an 'error' when it boots. You quickly see a flash of the dashboard before you get the welcome screen. Nothing that is bothersome though, but I just noticed it.
8/10 is not bad for a release title and I'm sure people that buy the game will enjoy it. I've seen reviews which gave it a much lower grade, but in my opinion you shouldn't change your purchase because of this, unless the things that are stated in the reviews itself really bother you.
I hope demo's will still come next-gen, so that you can really test it yourself.
@ikkokucrisis
eh?
Couldn't really tell a big difference from this video. Both have tons of jaggies. Must say that I like the colour of the PS4 version more. Xbox Ones version seems lighter/greener (soms things appeared pink where I would've expected the red color, that was being shown on the PS4) whereas the PS4 version looked darker and more blue'ish (what are the odds).
Goes to show that IW took too much on it's sleeve which didn't allow them to properly optimize any vers...
A similar article was here over a month ago. He simply stated that everyone always uses the max of a console. People are just using code that is far from being optimized, which can mean that games can look 5x better with more time and knowledge of the systems.
Counts for PS4, Xbox One, 360, ps3 etc etc.
Absolutely right :) Can't wait for Halo 5 ^^
@Hankmoody, I also liked halo 4, but to me the new enemies were quite 'boring' compared to The Covenant. Somehow I felt like I was doing the same battle over and over again, whereas the covenant delivered some more variety.
I might have it completely wrong and I just wasn't in a proper mood when playing it. But that was the impression I currently have in my head.
Don't know if you understand what I mean?
@Mechlord, you are totally right about that. But my example was more to show that it isn't only MBs of data that needs to be streamed per second and that you don't necessarily need an expensive Internet Subscription to make it work.
It is indeed true that programmers need to use it in such a way that it can deal with some type of delay. Possibly computations that happen further away from the player. No idea if it is possible to alter this range depending on your Inter...
@Foxhound922 there is a difference between having a connection and having a 150MBit connection. Think before you spout such nonsense please.
Don't want to be rude, sorry, but regarding this story it is about a fast internet connection that is able to stream a lot of data. The always on connection didn't require a fast connection at all.
Stuna1 there is a difference between streaming full games with little compression over a connection compared to some data. For Sony it will also not be a < 100ms thing, which is what he is talking about.
Easy example. Lets say you are on your old pentium 166mhz and you want to calculate pi to I don't know how long. It takes a long time to calculate a lot of possibilities on your pentium 166mhz. But if you sent this calculation to the cloud, where all the machines do it...
True, but this little tidbit had been known for a long time. It's just a rehash of what we've already known a long time. The same goes for the PS4. It's just the way it is and we have to deal with it, but I don't find updates such a big deal in this day of age.
Let's hope they do :) I also hope that TV works in The Netherlands. We've had very little of the things here that were available in other countries with the xbox 360.
Anyone knows if you can just turn Voice Commands to English this time around in your language settings?
Great demonstration that highlights the UI that people have been asking for. Kinect really adds to the overall experience and glad to see that the voice commands work so quick and correct.
Can't wait to test it out next year when it's released in Europe :)
I agree/understand Both of you, but it shouldn't be the most important thing. Enjoyment in playing a game should (at least that's the point of most games). I never liked this sad fanboy war to begin with and it quite ruins reading gamenews for me, since its bleeding into some journalists also.
As an artist you want to be free in what you can do, but on a console the differences aren't as apparent as behind a PC resolution wise. If I turn a game to 720p on my lapto...
I can't believe people actually don't seem to agree with this? I am really wondering what the reason is people still play games nowadays.
As an Artist I find graphics very important, but resolution doesn't only define great graphics. It furthermore barely makes gameplay more appealing.
Cmon guys, if Xbox people would troll that much on PS4 vids the same would happen.
Some people here are really simple minded and jump on these click bait titles. It is not only applied to MS, but to everything. Sad that these types of websites are so biased and make up such sad stories.
Couldn't agree more. Some people are really pathetic. Games are supposed to give people joy and entertainment, not this shit.
Can't wait till both consoles have been released and we can just talk about games/gameplay again.
+ "especially when [harassment] was directed at my child. But I resisted."
Don't leave out an important part. It is quite logical that someone would have such an opinion.
People furthermore take everything that is being said way to literally lately regarding the gaming industry which is why big things happen over tiny bits of information, that actually shouldn't be such a big deal.
I am happy for this guy, that it eventually...
woops double post somehow
