The only real shooter FPS MS has released so far is Halo MCC. Dead Rising 3, Ryse, Killer Instinct, Sunset Overdrive, the two Forza, Project Spark, and upcoming games like Fable Legends, Screamride, Ori, Quantum Break are not COD/Halo clones. Get that out of your head.

There is nothing wrong wirth linear games as I am looking forward to Uncharted 4 and Quantum Break but I just love open world games that can also have stories and offer massive amount of gameplay like the upcoming Zelda, Witcher 3 and Xenoblade X. And 2 of those games are on the inferior Wii U hardware but it doesn't matter as long as it is epic, have great story telling and fun.
I like the MS approach to their game design. Most of their exclusives have an open world feel to it and/or online rich features with tons of replay value compared to linear type games that emphasis on graphics. I think Scalebound has great potential to incorporate great action and an open world epic scenery. This part of the article stands out for me:

Not only games but things like OS updates are also important so yiu can say online essential is more appropriate but in the case of AC Unity and Driveclub, I do agree that without online updates, gamers are SOL that bought thwm so I am glad Online plays a big role of helping them at least have a chance to improve.
What you failed to realized is that Don Mattrick ultimately make the Final decision as that is the way it was when he took over 1/2 way into the xbox life cycle. Before Mattrick, the X360 was mainly a core gamer machine much like what the XB1 is now but when Mattrick took over, there is no coincident that he try to market the x360 as a wii competitor and capture the casuals as well with the introductory of the Kinect.

There are so many great ones. Xbox has arguably the best lineups of retail AAA games releases for last year. Forza Horizon 2 is the highest rated racing game so far this generation and is my current favorite and most played game along with the now fixed Halo MCC which has the best value and replyability of any game ever and the my action open world game of the year in Sunset Overdrive is a real gem. I expect 2015 to be even bigger.

The $400 console still include a copy of AC Unity and Black Flag so if you look at that standpoint, MS system is stull cheaper. I think MS is just testing what the market reaction will be..esp in the US by including free pack in games and sell it at the same price as the PS4 stand alone SKU. Agreed. In addition to great third party games..exclusives such as Uncharted 4, Bloodborne, Zelda, Xenoblade X, Halo 5, Quantum Break are all must played games. You don't need all the consoles now but by the end of the year when great deals are avaialable and all these AAA games are out..I would be upset if I only have one system. But of course if budget is an issue, then just enjoy what you have as 2015 looks promising dor all 3 consoles and I expect more games to be announced by E3.

People forgetting the biggest factor..the rise of smartphones. During the PSP days, the PSP had some success because touchscreen smartphones wasn't invented yet. By the time iPhones and Androids became populular..it is pretty much game over for high powered portable consoles as a smartphones does gaming on the cheap and people habit of portable gaming have transformed into quick to pick up and play games like Angry Bird and Candy crush. XB1 and not only is Forza Horizon 2 and Halo MCC and the Halo 5 beta are my most played games this past December and Jan, the external HDD option and snap feature are big pluses that the other consoles just could not match and is perfect for my all-in-one entertainment center need and storage space.
