KZ 2 is not about doing something decent and affordable, is about creating the engine for the future of PS3 first party titles.
KZ 2 engine will benefit the goal of the PS3, to showcase the power of the console, and make it last for a long time

Resistance 1 and 2 needed a lot of polishing, the game looks and plays like a preview code, inconsistency in quality, funky character movement, weird physics, aggressive/dumb enemy A.I.
Ratchet and Clank WoF and Quest FB: it does look good, but it should look better. Some textures inconsistency is pretty obvious. Again, those two needed more polishing

the wii is a modified gamecube with new controllers. Cheap to produce, cheap R&D, not much to lose if it flopped because they were already dead last.
by the way, the wii is such a piece of crap it makes me mad that because it selling so good it takes attention away from real gaming.
