While this data you have seems to be correct according to my sources, you miss the fact that Sony has been the market leader for 8 years even with Micro$oft's best efforts Sony's PS3 will obviously sell better. Also their stock will go up just because they're going to launch a new game system. The last thing is that many developers are underestimating the importance of brand recognition, and that's something analysts know will help the PS3.

The PS2's market share is 68% not 50%.
The Xbox's market share is 20% not 25%.
Also a lot of analysts know that Sony has a tendency for making history. So I would'nt be surprised if they outsold the Xbox 360 by late 2007.

With the PS2 people have more choice in the games they buy so they sold 6.59 million copies of Gran Turismo 4 so far in just 1 year. While Halo 2 sold only about 4 million in one year. With the Xbox you have less choice of games so you're forced to buy games like Halo.
In about 1 more year Gran Turismo 4 will have passed Halo 2 in sales all it needs is about 1 million more copies sold.
