Well I'm not quite sure what 'jouralism' is but the stock of commenters on this site just plummeted.

You do realise it's an aggregator site where you can read the article that's been linked to before offering your opinion on said article here?

Who raised these people? I guess wolves would be the answer.

Happy Christmas, btw :)

What about the DS?! Maybe not the best platform but surely worth a mention in the article. Loads of great RPGs on the machine in the past couple of years.

PS2 for me, anyway. Dark Chronicle is my favourite game of all time. So there.

My word, what a brilliantly insightful article this was, a shining beacon of everything that's right with games journalism and web-based reportage today. Such is the depth of research and writing I feel genuinely enlightened about the issues - moral and otherwise - surrounding this particular game and those of its ilk such as Doki Doki Majo Shinpan.

Bravo, sirs, bravo!

To be fair, TheMyst, I said 'restrictively high price' not 'extremely...' However you dress it up, 300 notes (either dollars, Euros or GB pounds) is a lot of cash for a portable games machine. You cite Nintendo launching at that price too. Where did that get them?

As the comment below says, iPad is an entirely different proposition. I don't see any Apple marketing campaigns directed to the hardcore gamer.

And yes, supporting smaller PSN-st...

While I understand your point about the Suite, and I'm not suggesting it's anything other than a good thing, I'm not really sure how it affects the key issue of Sony shifting actual PlayStation Vitas? Which is the point of the piece.

Genuinely sorry if I'm missing something here...

So wanted this to be about tanks featuring in SOTD DLC or something.

Anyway, think we'll see it place higher next week due to all the word-of-mouth doing the rounds.

Being released a week before payday and the sunny weather possibly hasn't helped its cause, although the main issue is probably that of stocking (or lack of)

What an extraorinary article! I'm not sure there was a single word I agreed with.

"We need to stand up as gamers and lay our collective feet down"

Quite.

Nah, not kidding. Just calling it as I see it and what I saw was a shooter that was funny, silly, gleefully brutal and pretty fresh. It also didn't have a number after its title, which is something of a cause for celebration in itself.

As to the BIA thing, well that's got to be some nutjob in Ubi's marketing department deciding to label it under that 'brand'. Far from surprised at the negative reaction from fans.

"If I couldn't complete my work quota, they would punish me physically. They would make me stand with my hands raised in the air and after I returned to my dormitory they would beat me with plastic pipes. We kept playing until we could barely see things," he said.

That's from the actual article on the Guardian, not this one that rips it off. Yeah, isn't absolutely hilarious.

Don't worry about naming your source, will you. Article lifted from here:

Agreed up to a point, soundslike. Yes Rockstar games always sell, but given the investment (tech, marketing etc on top of normal development costs) will that be enough for the game to make a bigger splash on the industry as a whole? And by that I mean convincing pubs/devs that there is still a strong, viable audience for this sort of title. As DanSolo above says, I really hope it will do well.

Anyway, we'll soon see!

Yeah, they've been hitting it hard for a while now online and in print mags. Very much not kissing Rockstar's behind with the article (or trying not to anyway) but I do genuinely hope it's successful enough for the industry to take note and develop more games of this ilk.

Goodness me. I've read some inane comments on here but this surely takes the biscuit (or cake, as the case me be with Portal) for sheer idiocy.

"I'm so sick of seeing these stupid opinion articles trying to pass their opinion off as fact."

The keyword here is 'opinion', my friend. If you've bothered to read the article you'll see that it's well-argued and not sensationalist. It's the opinion of the writer, one with wh...

I apologise unreservedly for the offence and hurt caused by posting a link to this throwaway gag here, and indeed for the insult to gamers' intelligence. I sought only to bring a brief smile to maybe a few but now I realise that my actions were indefensible given the awful situation gamers currently find themselves in with PSN being down. I am as bad as the hackers themselves, if not worse. I shall sit in a corner and think about what I have done and hopefully come back a better person.
