With the ending, or at least the temporary cessation of development, of FPS Halo titles this could be both a way to satisfy fans of the series and to try out new ways of branching the genre out. As both a RTS and FPS fan I'm really looking forward to see what Ensemble studios will accomplish with Halo Wars.

It's nice that Fallout 3 made it onto so many of those lists but rather surprising that Prince of Persia didn't make it onto more. The game is getting such a fresh new look I'd have thought there would've been more excitement.

I'm curious about how putting a different time period on AC will make it fresh. After all, just because a person is wearing a different set of clothes doesn't mean they're any different. And the first AC did get repetitive after a while.

I'm not sure about Chris Lewis's comment that Xbox 360 sales won't flag due to the state of economy. Granted people do need entertainment to cheer themselves up, particularly when times are tough, but there are cheaper ways to do it then buying a 200 dollar console.

In comparison to how gamers reacted with Activision putting up more powerful weapons for sale via Download I think leveling the playing field in this way was not a bad move. It may not be actually practical but I still think people will buy.

I can relate to the writer of this article after playing Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, namely that War Golem you fought that had the power orbs on it's body. I can't recall the last time I was so frustrated: I literally screamed myself hoarse and once I beat it I felt really good...for about ten seconds.

Offering a challenge that isn't actually unfair is tough but games need challenge otherwise it just really isn't worth playing.

They say guns don't kill people, people kill people, but what I think we have here is a case of money killing people. Or people with money killing people.

I wonder if the reason The Agency was postponed was because Sony wasn't sure how well it would compete in the current MMO market. It seems to be WoW with 85% of the market and everybody else fighting over the rest: maybe The Agency wouldn't be unique enough to grab a decent chunk of the market?

Still, it does sound like an improvement, even if it's not as big a one as it was originally promised. Anything that ends up in the plus column is a good result to my mind.

Man, if EA can get hit that hard, then who knows where it might go? This is certainly alarming and, it must be said, unfortunate news.

Well, I believe it's importance as a novel creation is more vital then whatever flaws the gameplay may have, the lack of zombies notwithstanding.

This reaction is weird, even for Sony. You'd think that they would have taken the time, especially with a game that they have so heavily publicized, to make sure they had all the nuts and bolts worked out before letting other people play it. No matter how good a product is if it's badly handled by a company then few to none will want to play it.

It's always good to see a game which keeps in mind the reactions of the player to what's going on in the game. It's particularly true in such cinematic style games like Gears of War, which it's hulking macho men doing bold and brave things all over creation, to have dialogue which can link the player to the characters.

Otherwise it'll all be mush.

Yes, there are always those little extras that pop up. "Thanks for purchasing an Xbox 360. To improve your experience we recommend you purchase..."

Still, it's good to see that so many console companies are dropping their prices. Even if it's not as low once you've bought the console every little bit helps.

I hope this terms out to be something aimed at the convenience of people who would want all three items in one go as opposed to pushing customers into buying it. That would be just...slimy.

The scary part is that I can easily see The World of Mushroom Kingdom game coming into being.

I'm rather impressed that Treyarch decided to take the game back to it's roots: Activision's decision to leap to more modern venues seemed bizarre when there were other notable engagements in WW2 to take on. It may just end up restoring the series to where it came from and improving it at the same time.

It'll be nice to have another mythological game that's not God of War around. God of War was, well, rather tacky not to mention being a colossal pain to play sometimes.

It's great that we're given such good games to play but, well, I'd like them less stuffed into one season. Have pity on my bank account. -_-

It seems that Microsoft has managed to do what is often a difficult thing to do: manage an effective sequel that raises rather then diminishes the series. However, the problems with the other parts of the game-the easy boss fights, the multiplayer issues-is strange. Can it be that a game so great in other areas has to be really bad in some others? Strange but true.
