The HD dvd player ...displays 1080p via vga cable and 1080i via componant cables. And the level of sharpness and detail is the same...its the smoothness of the video that is slightly changed with the progressive scan vs the interlaced....But it still looks amazing and the only time you can see a slight difference is when you have a big screen...60 inches and up. Otherwise its spectacular in either resolution. Anyone who has Discovery HD knows that 1080i is beautiful. And for movies....108...

The 360 has more ram and 5 times more memory bandwidth for HDR and AAA. And the 360 has 512 ram for grapics compared to the ps3's 256 ram for Graphics....Thats why the textures in ps3 games will never match games for the 360 in terms of Graphical fidelity....but, you can compare the original xbox games with ps3 games.
