For me the problem is not the absence of new consoles, but the lack of new original ideas in games. I don't need better graphics, I'm perfectly fine with it now. What I really need, want and miss is new innovative games (dreamcast anyone?). So I think we don't really need next gen consoles, we need next gen video games.

Didn't play Dark Souls, so I dont know. But Demon Souls was awesome
The first Mass Effect is soooooooo much better than its sequels, imo. Magnificent and truly rewarding experience.
The only game that made me really emotional and even managed to bring me to tears was Shenmue. The 1st one. Even now when I'm thinking about it, I'm getting sad...
DP is one of the worst games of all time, but somehow it managed to capture my interest for quite some time. It definetely has a certain charm. Everything about it is bad, but worst of all are the controls, imo.
Wow, didnt see it coming until I read about this game here. Very excited to be ablr to play it. Flower was excellent
The demo reminded me too much of ME2 which I didnt like at all. Now it's all run'n'gun with occassional conversation. It tries too hard to appeal to Gears of War crowd. I miss the gameplay, exploration and the sense of wonder of the first Mass Effect... It all went downhill from there, imo..

Hated the demo. Reminds me too much of ME 2 which I didnt like. Why? It became too action oriented. Absolutely loved the first Mass Effect though.

That's the real problem with FF13, you just said it. It's the die hard fans who hated it, while most casual gamers liked it because of its more streamlined gameplay and pretty gfx. And casual make up for majority of course. That's why FF13 is actually the best selling title in the series. And for Square Enix it's the sales that really matters. So there you have your FF13-2. I'll not be that surprised if they announce FF13-3 soon.
Maybe they want us to pay twice for it. First in fall we buy last gen version and by christmas they'll be launch titles for next gen consoles. Hmm, that's one money grabbing plan from Rockstar
