Well said... anti consumerism with DRM, blocking used games, and always online would only stiffle the industry, leading to more monopoly power and the death of indies, or rather bending to more rules to get games on platforms.
This is what MS and EA would prefer you do. Hence their alignment this gen. Anyways Sony pushed the gamers agenda, and also for free to play games no requiring no a subscription, services not hidden behind a pay wall, and an optional camera.

You look at RIME, Shadow of the Beast, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, The Order 1886... all new IPs. Not to mention sequels like Infamous, Uncharted... Plus Santa Monica, GG, and so many more working on new IPs... both with online and off line components... how is MS more online focused? Sorry but I don't get your logic at all.

So? Titanfall is just a shooter... yes JUST a shooter. There are many better games out there with rich single player experiences that people will enjoy on Sony's platform.
Plus TitanFall can be played on PC.

Sony is selling more where MS is meant to be the most dominant. Weekly sales are 2:1 in NA, 5:1 in Europe and we know what will happen in Japan.
MS have always preferred paying for content and exclusives, rather than investing in new IPs and studios. This is even more so this gen. Also they decided to go with a gimmick, and appeal to everyone, with a more expensive, less poweful console.

Once I finish the story and reach the end, I count that as completed. With work, gym, going out, gf... there just isn't enough time.
Especially when multiple games release in the same month that I want to play.

If you had to choose between your console performing on par/better and voice commands...? The choice is clear. No one would say the latter. Plus the cost of voice commands.

Fact remains... Kinect is over rated and shouldn't be a compulsory $100 purchase. It also may be the reason the console is less powerful. So it takes away from gaming and the device rather than add to it.
Would you rather your console perform on par or better than the competition? Or voice commands? And paying more for the latter?

The PS3 was more powerful, had Bluray, built in wifi, and HDMI at launch. Plus free online.
You had to buy another Xbox for most of this with services still behind a paywall. Plus at launch the HD DVD player and wireless adapter costed more than the PS3. The Xbox was cheap to buy as just a box and an entire year early.
So your comparison doesn't stand. PS4 is cheaper and more powerful.
