Same. This feels like Capcom took RE7 and 4 then fused them into a SOTN-like action-horror title. It feels like a good move for Ethan's trilogy. I'm not seeing the action detract because the setting doesn't feel like it should be slower-paced.
Since reviews are subjective, this is what you get; an opinion based on feelings with little to account for the actual mechanics and overall design of the game. This reviewer may not like this game, being more open or brighter, or more combat-oriented, etc... whatever... but a 5/10 should define a game on the verge of being broken or plain bad. This does not look like RE6 at all. It actually looks like RE expanded with some Castlevania: SOTN baked in but in the first person. Lots of secrets a...
It’s a Puzzle Platformer; not a puzzle game. It’s incredible however; and a truly remarkable story if you complete all the extras hidden in the world. Very dark and eerie. In my top 5 alongside the original Oddworld games.

Misleading description. It's just performance patching.
He seems to be the continuity for the series. RE7, although great, felt like it was the preamble to a larger story. I think this game will really open that up for the meta (Umbrella, etc).
They scaled back with the RE Engine so they have 160 million more consoles to sell on. It’s primarily built for PC and PS5/XSX. This was a smart way to scale the game. Nothing was held back unlike those who build for the lowest common denominator and try to render up.
70 hours to platinum for me. I assume that the core game is about 30 without rushing.
Nice.
Agree but I wish the sales would filter better. Right now there are about a 1000 things for sale and it can be hard to find content among the noise.
More than anything, this truly confirms that every old person owns a Wii and never plays it.
Not a series but I wish Puppeteer would come to PS4/5.
The fast travel and the bike systems were really well crafted. I first thought it would be a pain too but like HZD, this game is not a grind. You are constantly leveling and upgrading through the course of playing. I never felt like it held me back and those moments where you were forced to get off your bike or not fast travel were designed in a way to really immerse you into exploration and new situation to tackle. Minus a few hiccups, this game was such a phenomenal experience. Plus, the pl...
37GB Raw with 500MB day one...
Stay away from spoilers!
No thank you. Already had enough that I’m the street date is broken. Would like to keep the surprises and such to a minimum.
The original Abe’s Oddysee and Exoddus were phenomenally executed, dark, gritty, funny, and solid. The story was great, the cutscenes were the best on PS1, and the controls were perfect. The layout for secrets also were perfectly designed and the added depth and static scenes felt right.
New and Tasty destroyed the look and feel of Oddworld.
Now... I’m currently playing SoulStorm. It’s fine but it’s not Exoddus. It’s slow and action oriented. It’s not flu...
Another reason I am in favor of digital.
No
Jim Ryan is such a suit and a garbage one at it. He keeps stepping on PlayStation’s trajectory with his poor messaging. I’d hate for him to botch PSVR2 which looks to be an awesome new edition to PS5.
Because other than Super Paper Mario, which was a completely unique offshoot, the series has sucked.
What they should have is a drop pod as a save point. You drop it from the menu and save right there. So when you turn the PS5 and game back on, you are back in the game.
