MGS4 sold over 400,000 copies in japan on it's first day. How many PS3's have even been sold in japan? That's alot, especially considering japan's userbase. They're really heavy on portables/wii. And it's kotaku. Why do you people even get surprised, how many articles do you need to read to understand them

MGS4 boosted the activity of alot of other games. People who bought MGS4 were bound to buy some other games as well. And for people who want their online fix, alot of them bought warhawk.
They're really relying on this exclusive character stuff.

I dunno why, but when a game gets that low of a score..it kind of makes me want to play it.
1. Online gaming is very popular now so the open ended nature of the GTA universe isn't as appealing anymore. Because now you have something to do after you finish games.
2. GTAIV was just plain disappointing. It's hard for a game to be a system seller if your friends who haven't bought a next gen system yet will tell you they aren't impressed by it.
I'd be more than fine with Hayter writing the movie. He's done very well with the Xmen movies and he's about as close as you can get to the MGS series.
Little Big planet, Socom, Resistance 2, Bioshock, Motorstorm 2, Siren: Bloodcurse, Afrika, Mirror's Edge, Silent Hill 5. That's all I need. I'm seriously stuck on MGS4 though.

Gears of War seems more appropriate as an Xbox exclusive imo. Everything about the game just screams "xbox".
I actually think gears 2 took a leap from the PC gears 1. It looks good imo.
Epic has a habit of insulting their previously released games for the sake of promoting their new one. Remember when they said PS3 unreal tournament destroys gears of war? And then how the 360 version destroys that? And so on.
I doubt you don't know it already, but I'll humor you. Kotaku has a history of sensationalizing PS3 news and giving negative spin. They tend to not report on successful PS3 news, but they gnaw away at the bad news. They're basically journalistic vultures.
