Thats how i see the future. Your phone will be the desktop computer. U take it with u and use it as u would with a regular smartphone but when u get back home u put it on a docking station and it becomes a desktop computer. U will be able to do everything u can on a desktop.
I don't see that happing for many years though to make a small phone be the same as a desktop. Probly 10 to 15 years i would say.
If there doing the same thing as FFvs13 it was going to be a world wide release. I'm still hoping they do the same thing for FF15.
Really for me xbone and ps4 don't have that exclusives I care for. Only game i'm interested in is Quantum Break from that list but will not be released for awhile.
Ryse looks pretty but looks boring, Dead Rising 3 never played 1 and 2 so won't play 3, Halo don't like it, Gears never cared for it, Forza don't play car games, Killzone never played 1-3 not playing it, Drive Club will try it out because its free for ps+.
Only 2 games I care a...
@jetlin
When you mention your poly count for portfolio you don't say poly count in tris. its in Quads. And didn't u read that Drake had no LOD model. They used the same model for cutscenes and in-game.
" but single player is the high resolution model the whole time.. same model that is in the cinematics."
The pics are down but the wireframe is shown in quads. It would probly be more in the 75k range for the character. ...
Got to say though the character models look horrible and animations are worse.
I don't know where you been because its been called JRPG for many years now.
@jetlian
This is the artist from Naughty Dog that did character models. The images are not working on the first page but if you go down he explains how much polys it is on the 2nd page. And he is talking about quads because model he is showing is all in quads.

@scott182
"Also, when they talk about the 85k polys for the main character, are they talking at all times?"
More likely yes. Probly do the same thing as uncharted 2. Drake was around 80k tris with no LOD. Drakes model was used as game and in-game cinematic. All other character models had different levels of LOD ranging 85,000k tris all the way down to 4,000 tris.
I expect Ryse will do the same.
@marcofdeath
Killzone developers did say 40k polygons. Now there is some developers that say polygons they mean tris sometimes not. I do believe that 40k that was mentioned is in quads. So I believe its 80k. But will never know unless they say so.
@gaffyh
You are wrong. Start any 3d modeling program and have the polygon count and triangle count on. You have 1 triangle and 1 quad.
Polygon = 2
triangle = 3
Now convert that to triangles
polygon = 3
triangle = 3
Game engines can't use quads so it converts all quads to tris.
If the game engine would allow quads the polygon count would be 2.

@XboxFun
So what does that make you because you are clearly an Xbox fanboy so that doesn't make you any better.
@PLASTICA-MAN
I read that article for Uncharted now.
Nice quote from a comment from that article said it best
"The listing mentions normal mapping, which is the process of taking a higher resolution model and mapping it's normals (shading detail essentially) to a lower resolution model. In order to do this, you first must create the higher resolution model (The "million poly" model.). From there, you map the normals to the ...
@darthv72
A good artist would make a 85k tri character and pretty much look no different than 150k so no I don't think its much of a downgrade. You be suprised on how low poly you can get to look like a high res model.
@PLASTICA-MAN
Yes I know because I 3d model. On any modeling program if you check the poly count on 1 trianle and 1 quads you get 2 polys. Convert it to triangles you get 3 polys. When you transfer your character into ...
@PLASTICA-MAN
For one its a in-game cinematic. Pretty much most high end graphic cinematic games have there game models and there in-game cinematic models.
For actual gameplay ps4 won't beable to handel 1 million poly characters and not even close. PC's can't do it so what makes u think a ps4 can?

@PLASTICA-MAN
No game can have 1 million polys. They modeled a 1 million poly character and used that for normal map on a lower poly character.
@ShwankyShpanky
Its hard to say if they mean 40k quad polys or 40k triangles because no matter if its a quad or tri its still considered 1 poly. It can go both ways.
When appling for a job they don't want a triangle count they want it in quads and you don't convert it to ...
Better^^
I have no clue at all on what the sentence says^^
Lets see you make a game using copy and paste and see how it comes out.
Lot of work still goes into making this game. They probly reused assets in previous games but every game reuses assets but a lot of it is brand new.
Even though its the same engine it has changed completely compared when it first was used.
No game can be copy and paste. It takes a lot of time and effort.
I will be joining you with your Wii U when Xenoblade 2 comes out other than that Wii U is pretty worthless to me. Only reason I bought a Wii is for Xenoblade. And so far only reason I'm buying Wii U is for Xenoblade 2.
Also when u buy a game from pc microsoft doesn't get any royalty fees. Thats why pc games are always $10 cheaper. So $m loses out on titanfall sales to.
