Thanks for reading. The reason is that Battlefield scratches a very different itch than Call of Duty. Battlefield is much more squad based, methodical in pace with a heavy emphasis on class based gameplay and vehicles. Titanfall is very mic the run and gun, twitch style gameplay that made CoD popular. It has infinite, immediate respawns as well. It's very much in the vein of COD. Much more so than Battlefield.

Just because BF is a military shorter doesn't mean it'...

Lol. Thanks for reading! My "mic skills" are from a hardcore band, not hip hop. ;)

Agreed about Bloomberg. The worst.

I gotta say though, while I'm not defending the Government, Biden's statements seem more of a way placating rather than a to do list. Which is politics in a nutshell.

We will see what happens if and when this study comes to fruition.

Medal of Honor is effectively dead. They announced this months ago. So it could very well be a Star Wars type shooter on the off years.

Anyway, thanks to everyone for reading and commenting. I really do appreciate it.

Again, unfortunately I don't play MMOs so I have no real opinion of the quality but, the game has never been called bad by anyone I know that plays it, but with rare exception, MMOs, regardless of quality, are a hard sell. Just like shooters have a hard time competing with CoD. People like what they like and sink lots of money and time into it. Even WoW has been losing subscribers. The land scape changed and EA and Bioware misjudged it.

Still doesn't make me think the...

What if Battlefront replaces Medal of Honor as their alternate year release?

I've played and loved KotOR 1 and liked 2. They made an MMO, which again, by all accounts is good for an MMO. That doesn't mean that EA ruined it. This is the point of my article. To not be hyperbolic and think about it rationally. Yes, EA has made some, maybe even a lot of mistakes but this will be a good thing.

First of all, thanks for reading!

It's actually proven to be quite successful as F2P. But you've made my point. EA did pump crazy amounts of cash into if. By all accounts it's a quality game (I don't play MMOs) but its an MMO. The landscaper has changed drastically and only a few can truly thrive. With these devs working on single player and smaller scale MP, I see this completely working.

Like I said in the piece, Kathleen Kennedy cares about t...

Thanks for that! I sincerely appreciate it. I've only been writing for video game sites for about 7 months so it's great to hear people are enjoying at least some of what I am doing. Even if they don't, at least I am getting feedback.

Thank you for this! This is absolutely what I love about this game and games in general. Fascinating points regarding the contrast in design between Bioshock and Infinite!

Thanks for reading and making comment. I am the author so I definitely appreciate the feedback.

Setting and character are 100% necessary for a movie, that is true. But when the central conflict has no explanation beyond it being the twist that is poor writing. The twist is in Bioshock Infnite is good, and it works on the surface but upon further scrutiny it falls apart. Especially if you the only defense is "just because". I can think of serval films thy have a twi...

I got excited for a comment and hopefully a discussion and then I saw it was spam :(

Anyway, any feedback is appreciated!

Just wanted to reiterate that I'm a huge Tomb Raider fan and have been since day one. And I loved this game. They've nailed the shooting and are on the right path with the tombs. Crystal Dynamics just need to add a bit more with the tombs for the sequel and it will have struck the perfect balance.

Thanks or reading!

I think the "difference" for Bioshock is twofold. First Booker is established as a man with a bad past plus he was a soldier. Two, he doesn't have a legacy and the baggage that comes with it.

Thanks for taking the time to read the article.

Unfortunately we don't know the production budget of Tomb Raider but there are also marketing costs which need to be recouped. Either way, if the game selling 3.4 million units in less than 4 weeks is below expectations, clearly something is wrong with that business model.

There has been a lot of criticism leveled at Tomb Raider for the way it shows Lara in the beginning and her actions immediately following. This article shows why CD got it right.

How are you being screwed over? I'm sure the budget for ME3 is much larger than that of FF X regardless of length. And there are still plenty of games that are less than 10 hours that still cost that much. And further more, all of the Mass Effect games have tons of replay value. Final Fantasy is a linear franchise in terms of ending and narrative. Thy always end the same, no matter what. If having more bang for your buck is "getting screwed over" then you are in a sorry state.

Since I don't and never will game one a PC, this looks good enough for me. Can't wait. Hopefully they will do a "Crysis" and release the original as a digital download.
