64 players on PC is a cluster fuuuu... I could only imagine how chaotic 128 players would be. I think 64 players would be more than enough for all platforms if they make the maps larger and I doubt anything but a $500-$1000 intel with a 690 would be able to run 128 players at once at 60fps. 32-48 players on BF3 is the sweet spot for me... once you hit 48+ players you have to watch your back at all times and that becomes more stressful than fun.

Lol... way way way too exaggerated there. PC's will last a lot longer than 4 years... most definitely not on max settings though but at this point low settings now are better looking than what the current consoles can do. My friend was able to play BF3 on a i7(1.6GHz) laptop using the integrated graphics which weren't even close to reaching the minimum specs required for that game. I don't own premium and I don't have any problems finding servers but I'm not quite sure what you mean by viable. Only 2 of the Map packs were actually worth anything to me and those were the ones that added guns... I wish there were more large scale urban maps that weren't middle eastern.

TDM shrinks down the maps considerably in BF3... Conquest offers more immersion than any kind of DM and vehicles offer a workaround to the larger map size. I prefer COD visually when it comes the the guns and attachments but it's the same game year after year and I'm just not stupid enough to fall into Activisions trap... If EA starts that with BF then I'll ditch that series too and find something else. Destruction adds so much... it might even help out COD.
