It's all a PR game at this point. But, let's be honest... when even the 970 on a PC is what they consider minimal for VR, the PS4 as it is can't produce the quality experience VR really needs to be without making some concessions.
And, from what I've heard, Sony were deliberately talking about a shorter generation, and even discussing a more powerful piece of hardware not too late in the generation, before the PS4 was even released.
I wish they were told who the developer was. I'm going to assume it's probably not Rocksteady though. They've already expressed interest in moving on from Batman. Still, for the right price paid by Warner, they might be enticed to work on this.
Or not. Warner has made a very Batman/Assassin's Creed-esque game with Shadows of Mordor, so they technically don't need Rocksteady to work on Batman anymore.
I don't think it would matter as long as they get to play as the dude in pointy ears and a cape. Fans might complain but getting away from the Arkham evacuation plotline would be a breath of fresh air.
Console side would be safe though. It's only the afterthought PC iterations which keep getting screwed. And that's not true of all WB games either. Mad Max and Shadow of Mordor were very well optimized for the PC. The first two Arkham games were pretty darn good too.
No no no. He'll vet himsef to reputable sources. Not to the internet at large. When a leak comes around, media outlets will report on it and often respect the sources wish to remain anonymous... As long as they can prove they have the proper credentials. If my source wasn't credible, nobody would report on the rumor.
Sites like IGN do not just post random news based off of nothing. They have to vet these things.
Do you really not understand how...
My source works in the industry and is willing to share his credentials with reputable media outlets if that's asked of him. Get IGN or Gamespot to look into it if you think they might be interested in this news, and they'd be able to vouch that this guy is legit.
I understand skepticism but it's not as if he is going to stay in the shadows. If he were, I wouldn't have even reported this.
Also, despite the confidence I have in my source,...
That's an oversimplification though. As someone else has already stated, The Witcher 3 is DRM free and it sold pretty damn well. Why? Because people don't mind paying for games that people know to be quality. Maybe if studios stopped recycling the same games over and over and rushing out the door before they were finished, people would feel a bit more confident in spending their money.
It's definitely sold enough to make a sequel viable, but it's still not going to happen. Sony are not willing to deal with another entry, and that's a direct result of all the negativity that flooded the internet just prior to release and beyond. Hell, Ready at Dawn planned on doing DLC which would have hit in the fall, but thay went off the table, too.
Unfortunately, a lot of the hate from this game came not just from legit purchasers of The Order, but people w...
Exactly. Between needing a PS4, its camera, and probably some motion controllers, as well as the PSVR unit itself... That's one hell of an investment.
It's the game awards, guys. MGSV is a major contender. It's also his final MGSV game. Why wouldn't he be there to support all the hard work that he and his team put into it?
He also had a no compete clause in his contract which is set to expire this month, so I doubt he'll be talking about any new projects with a new company.
The assumption that the PSVR is going to be a cheap add-on is just flat out wrong, unless the writer is comparing the possible PSVR price point to the headsets that will sell for well over $1000 for PC.
Sony are already preparing us for a steep price. They mentioned it will likely be priced like a console, and to make us feel better about this, they iterated they won't be selling these things for a profit, at least not at first.
$400. If they go less, t...
It's definitely coming. There was even a slight possibility of it being shown this past E3, but ultimately, nobody was comfortable showing it off yet.
You'll have to be patient, but a lot of Crash fans will be happy at some point this gen.
I don't see the negative here at all. It's them saying there's different strokes for different folks, and the industry is in a place where there are games enough for everyone. It's like the movie industry... you can't please everyone. Some people prefer the fun of Indiana Jones, others prefer something like Apocalypse Now or Taxi Driver.
Uncharted is designed to fulfill a certain need. And based on how popular the franchise is, I don't think anyo...
I guess someone doesn't understand what a confirmation is.
It's pretty much a given it'll happen, yes, but that's not a confirmation. At all.
Well, we are seeing subscriptions more on consoles. Season passes ring a bell?
Also, Sony was recently quoted saying how awesome free-to-play has been for them, and how they look forward to utilizing that more in the future. In 3-5 years, was the time frame we've been given... meaning they got stuff in development now that's free-to-play. They even mentioned the possibility of free-to-play consoles in the future.
So, uh... yeah.
The average price these things go for, used, are $40. They're offering $25.
I know that Gamestop consistently slaps their customers in the face, but how much did you expect they'd give out for a console that's only going for $40?
Early fat models, yes. But they eventually removed it to keep the cost down.
I'm not sure what PEOPLE are thinking that haven't played the game.
Cannibals. This isn't an attempted rape. Period.
The thing this piece neglects to mention, is that handheld Nintendo's have already been sold without a charger pretty much everywhere else in the world. This is only a new practice for the United States.
Also, they mention that NOT including Majora's Mask with the new 3DS is Nintendo's way of attempting to squeeze extra money out of us... how? It's $199, just as the normal New 3DS XL is going to be.
